| Super Moderator ![]() | Caliber choices, freakish ones only... Ok, so I'm actually thinking of building a recoil operated pistol caliber carbine, using the simplest methods available. I'm highly inclined towards using 40 caliber, since it's what I have, but I'm thinking if I'm gonna make my own, it outta be something unusual, in case I want to keep making them. So below are a few calibers I have in mind. Much as I'd love to do a 44 or 45 mag, I think 10mm or 357 would have to be tops for a straight blowback system.
