| Be Hello again everyone, I was looking into the Beretta Cx4 Storm carbine. www.cx4storm.com/ Comes in 9mm, .40, or .45. While slated for home defense, I was looking at it in regards to more uses than that. My general all around "Fun gun" if you will. Its listed MSRP is around $740 however I found one over at my local Gander Mountain (hunting/outdoors store) for $680. I could probably get one for a bit cheaper through a local dealer as well. Does anyone here have any first hand expirience with this firearm or any other tidbits? I was looking at the CX4 as compared to the Ruger PC9 and the Hi-Point carbine. Thanks |

| Senior Member | I've shot one and was impressed with it overall, very accurate and reliable. The only area where it could use a little work is the trigger, its heavy and not very smooth. maybe that'll smooth out after a couple thousand rounds. I've had not experience with the Ruger or the Hi-Point, but based on the experience I've had with other Hi-Points, I'd steer clear. Thats just my experience though, there are many people who have had much better times with Hi-points, but I'm not one of them

| The Storm is nice, though expensive. The only thing it has over the Hi-point is the higher capacity magazines and it can be set up for lefties. A good gun if the price doesn't bother ya!

| I have owned a Beretta Storm (9mm) for about a year now, and have fired it enough to develop a first-hand evaluation on the gun. 1) The stock is WAY too short. Shorter than a youth shotgun or a Ruger 10/22. I had to add two of the available spacers just to make it fit my not-that-tall frame. Without them the recoil of the gun is surprisingly sharp. 2) The gun is 100% reliable. Everything works. Zero jams. Good accuracy once you get past the trigger pull. Very comfortable to shoot with the longer stock. 3) The #@!@# magazine springs were so strong that it was impossible to load 15 rounds. I opened the bottom, cut off a few coils and now the mags work better. Still, I've never had to do with with Browning Hi-Power or S&W mags. 4) The trigger pulls sucks. It truly sucks. The Hi-point has a better trigger. I know this because I've shot them both side by side. The Storm's trigger is definitely not in line with the $700 price tag. 5) The Beretta Storm is drop-dead beautiful. I can't take it out the range without someone coming over to check it out. I'll give credit to the Italian designers for producing a smart-looking gun. To sum up, the Beretta Storm is great-looking, ultra-reliable and confortable to shoot, but with a heavy trigger and too-short stock. TACAV, in your case for a fun-gun I'd get the Hi-point and save a lot of $$$$. Hope this helps. Bookman. |

| Hey bookman my browser didint display your last post when I made my reply, but The short stock, I dont think will be a big deal b/c Im kinda short lol. Really from what everyone has said, the one thing that sticks out with the storm is the trigger pull. Does anyone know an exact lbs measurement on the trigger squeeze? It seems odd that a single action trigger is so hard to get off. |

| TACAV - The short stock is not a problem as long as you are willing to pay the extra bucks and buy the spacers that Beretta offers. I'm guessing the trigger pull is about 10-12 pounds. I haven't measured it but I know it's too heavy. My Storm might be going to the gunsmith this winter to lighten it up if I can find the right guy to do the work. The gun came in a neat plastic case with two 15 round magazines. I've been told aftermarket mags for the Beretta 92 don't work in the Storm. All-in-all it's a good gun that could have been made better. |
