| kel tec .223 and other questions hey ya'll, i was lookin through a "gun" magazine the other day and stumbled upon a kel tec .223 among some other carbine .223s. i was immediately attracted to them because they were, well, for lack of a better word... COOL!!! dont really know too much about em though, such as are they good varmint rifles or more target shooters, and id just like to know more general info about them. and also hurry up guys cause i am really anxious to get to know more about these beautiful pups. thanks. |

| I think they look like toys and feel like toys. Felt them at gunshops, and they are ALL PLATIC. I think it is a POS. If anyone feels different, please say, i would also like to know more about these over priced BB guns |

| hahaha, thanks future, ive never even seen these in real life but can u recommend a smaller caliber carbine or any other ones that u think highly of? |

| Super Moderator ![]() | If you're talking 223s, consider a Saiga or WASR rifle based on the AK action. Quite accurate and the maximum in reliability. Other AK based 223 semis are available and reach AR-15 prices with a lot more to offer. The Mini-14 is an option if its limited accuracy is acceptable to you and if the factory 5rd mags are sufficient. Some of us are tentatively boycotting Ruger for past anti-RKBA activity, and would recommend you buy only a used one. And of course there are the many varieties of AR-15.
