Hi-Point owners...

Okay, this is my first post since joining this forum, but please bear with me, lol.

I know alot of people don't like Hi-Point, alot of which have had no experience with them however, but their carbines are actually quite well built... EXCEPT for that plastic stock!!! GAH!!! I HATE THAT THING!!! Its ugly and makes the gun feel cheap and shoddy. Those of you familiar with Advanced Technology Inc. may know of the composite stock they make for the Hi-Point 9mm 995... and only the Hi-Point 9mm. I have acquired a .40calibur model 4095 and was disappointed when I came to find out that ATI doesn't make an aftermarket composite stock for this model. I've e-mailed them and they said they'd add my name to a list of people that wanted a stock for the .40's. Hey, to me thats a slight glimmer of hope!!!

So this is the deal, I need some of you fellow Hi-Point-ers to message them at info@atigunstocks.com asking why they don't make a stock for the .40. Just say that you got a .40 and were disappointed in finding that they (ATI) don't make this stock for anything but the 9mm. Any help would be greatly appreciated in getting the ball rolling on the production of these things. Thank you for any help guys.

Good luck with your quest. We used to have a ATI representative hanging out on this forum. Don't remember his name - maybe someone else can help you out with that one. If you knew his name you could PM him.

I had one of the hi-point carbine in 9mm. It was an OK little carbine, but I grew tired of it and sold it. I think the 10 round mag was what got on my nerves the most.

I've been wanting the 40 cal version too for a while and one of my main reasons for holding off has been the unavailability of an ATI replacement stock.

In my opinion, Hi point should just subcontract out their stocks to ATI, or at least offer it with that option from the factory instead of so many current buyers paying for two stocks and then throwing one in the trash.

I have been looking forward - for far too long! - to the introduction of the vaunted .45ACP High-Point Carbine. An ATI stock for it would be icing on the cake! But I expect both will be awhile in coming.

Yeah, I want a .45 carbine, as well. I like my 995 just fine and can deal with my Planet of the Apes gun just fine as is. The cocking bolt is something from a hardware store, though.

The Hi-Point carbine in 40S&W is great except for the weak wrist stock.

I am looking into a carbine, but since I already own a Taurus 24/7 in .40 S&W, I'd like try to use the same ammo. The Hi-point you guys are talking about here, that is the .40 S&W, right? Are there any other good carbines out there that use the .40 S&W that I may be interested in researching? Google search isn't helping much on locating them. Just looking for some in sight here, I think it's a good idea to have a rifle and a couple of pistols all using the same ammo. I am also looking into the Taurus Millinium Pro in .40 S&W to...for the times I am outside of the People's Republic of Illinois where CCW is legal.

I prefer the Uzi,which can be converted 9mm,.45,,41a&e by exchangeing a few parts.
However they are more expensive.

Lucas it is a shame they do not make one for the .40, I wasn't aware of that. It may be related to the amount they sell. I for sure do not know. I know my ATI for my 9MM will never leave it. Though I do not own a .40 (yet) I will send my .02 worth in.

Well tplane, I have to agree there is an advantage at least for me to have more than one firearm with the same caliber. I have a Millinium Pro 9MM and a Hi-Point 995 9MM carbine as a companion. Simply a blast shooting both of them. As far as other makes, you can check out the Beretta CX4 Storm in .40 cal. But honestly, the Hi-Point gives you good service at a significantly less price. But with the Hi-Points, I would go with a ATI or comparable stock which adds a few $'s. But they give you a good look and function with just a little fit up.
Troy, I definitely think a .45 Hi-Point carbine would be nice, but I already have a .45 carbine (kind of). To bad they quit making them in the mid 90's after Mr. Clintons administration passed the assault weapons bill, which scared Marlin into stopping production of their Camp rifles. I am lucky enough to own one though, and I think the world of it. Fun like my Hi-Point, with the versatility of using standard 1911 clips. Bit more expensive to shoot, but still a thrill!! Hi everyone I'm new to the forum. We are currently a 3 Hi-Point family with the 4th on order. We laughingly call them the poor man's Glock.

My carbine is a 9 and I have to admit that at first it had a few issues with FTE's that had me inventing new swear words every time I fired it. After it got broke in, however, the problems ended and since then it's been one sweet shooting weapon.

I tried a red dot scope on it for 3 months and wound up taking it off as it was more accurate with it's original sights.As the old saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

My husband called the company last week to request a new firing pin spring to replace the one on his C9 due to light primer strikes. They insisted on sending him the whole assembly, free of charge, no questions asked outside of the weapon's serial number. Great people and company to work with. They stand behind their products.

The new member of the family will be a 40 Carbine..hopefully in camo.

You can probably find the review at the Gun Tests online website, but I'll cut to the chase. They slammed the Beretta Storm and were lukewarm about the Ruger, but they loved the Hi-Point 4095 Carbine and gave it their highest rating.

Like many in this forum, they thought it looked a trifle odd and did not like the bolt handle much. On the other hand, it digested everything they loaded it with and was fun to shoot, especially after they attached the optional compensator. If you are looking for a knockabout camp gun or a reliable survival scenario weapon that isn't going to break the bank, you've found it. (It's not unheard-of to find them new in box at around $200.)

However, like Big Dog, I'm holding out for the .45 ACP version - unless Slick Hillary gets elected, at which point I'll grab a 995 if I can find one.
