Yeah, guess I do tend to run off at the mouth occassionally.
I have had several pistol caliber carbines, the last one before the UZI was a Beretta Storm.
My UZI shoots much better than I do,25 rounds in one 1 1/4" hole at ten yards.
It is a model B,IMI frame and parts with folding stock, also have wood stock, all built in the good old USA!
It looks like new and has never misfired,I trust it compleatly for home protection and short range plinking.
Easy to take down for cleaning, pretty quiet with standard pressure 9mm,and almost no muzzle flash
It just rings my chimes!

OK,pros and cons.
Storm. 1. much lighter easy to handle.
2. mags exchange for pistol mags,S&W as I recall.
1. very difficult to take down for cleaning.
2. light weight makes it hard to get back on target quickly.
UZI. 1. Mags cheap and plentiful and very rugged, can be had in various calibers and capacities, including drums, how ever .45 ACP mags are hard to find and very expensive.
2. almost instant take down with no tools.
3. heavy weight makes it much easier to get back on target.
4.Lots of accessories including folding stocks, wood stocks,multi-caliber conversions, and parts are cheap.
5. Obviously more rugged, all steel except for grips.
As my carbine is semi-auto I use 25 rd mags,if it were select fire I would go for higher capacity, probably 32 rd.Both are very accurite, but the UZI weight makes a bit more so,especially rapid fire.
I consider both to be good choices.

In addition to the comments above I'd like to add a little more on the Storm-
> I think it only takes Storm Pistol (PX4) mags.
> The Trigger mechanism is overly complex I have had mine stick due to some LO plastic shavings getting in the wrong place (easy to foul/jam).
> Hammer is Polymer as well as the locking mechanism- to me this will not hold up long term- Beretta cheaped out on some places it shouldn't have!
So although it's a Fun gun and accurate and a wonderful Pleasure Shooting or Plinking firearm, it is nowhere in the running for being a SHTF or Your Life Depends on it Weapon.

Dang! I didn't realize how much plastic was in it!
Beretta sure let folks down in the long run.
The Uzi and Beretta were running about the same price back then when I got my Beretta and then Uzi.
