They used to sell this cavity maker...I still have mine. There is a base which the bullet slips into, and then a hand twist drill top. Makes a fatter HP than the factory, and does an excellent job of keeping it centered. I also altered mine a little to make a deeper hole.
It looks like it also holds the bullet to keep it from turning around and around,have not seen any 22LR that the bullet cant be turned with your fingers.As a kid there was some Winchester HP that I believe had something explosive inside the HP and waxed over,remember shooting blackbirds and all you found was feet,wingtips and maybe a head if you looked hard enough.Shure worked good on varmits and ground Squirels.My pesty squirel comited sueside today on the road,wife said she threw him in the ditch so now I cant try my SWC I made for him,burns me up !:laughing:
