Question arrow weight?

For hunting purposes do you perfer low weight arrows or heavy arrows? with low weight arrows you get faster velocities and flatter trejectories. But does this overcome the amount of kenetice enrgy that the heavy arrow packs?

I shoot a 28 inch arrow with 100 grain broad head. All total weighing in at about 345 grains. Flying at about 280 FPS.

A friend shoots arrows that are 24 inches and 100 grain heads. total weight of 315 shooting at about 295 FPS.

Just wondering which will hit harder down the range?

without doing the math, i would say yours have more energy. i prefer a little more weight, i shoot a 417gr arrow at 261fps, and it goes through deer like a hot knife through butter. speed helps flatten trajectory, but i would personally like to have more down range energy. of course ive been shooting bows so long i remember when a bow that could do 200fps was considered a speed bow!
