Missouri House Passes Concealed Weapons Bill
"The Missouri House of Representatives on Wednesday overwhelmingly approved a bill to legalize concealed weapons in the state. The issue was passed 108-33 and will now move to the state Senate. Supporters say that carrying concealed weapons would be a deterrent to crime.
Opponents say that more guns means more violence. Missouri Governor Bob Holden has said he will veto the bill if it makes it to his desk."
can they over-ride the veto??? its crap when one guy can be the cork in the bottle. the same thing here in KY, all the anti's hysteria, and liberal newspapers fighting the CCW bill. all their scenarios of "Shoot Out at the OK Corral" have not happened.
I'm root'n for ya folks, big time. We had it all the way to "limp richard" Gov. Graves, who then veto'd it. I'll think of move'n east if ya'll get it passed.

They should have stopped at "Congress shall make no law"
Democrat governor Bob Holden has threatened to veto the bill if it passes the senate. :assult:
I don't know what happens after that. I'd be interested in hearing from someone who knows what happens if the CCW legislation can be overriden, ...or is it dead in the water, or what???
From what I read it appears there are enough votes to override a veto if the legislators have the stones to do it. Hope you guys get it, be nice to point to a neighbor that has CCW when it gets reintroduced here in Kansas someday. I am tired of breaking the law everytime I travel to Wichita or KC.

You've gotten farther in less time than we have, Ox. Hope it passes and proves the anti-gunners to be the paranoid lunatics they really are.
Keep us posted.....

I don't know the exact history of this legislation in Missouri but proposals have been introduced for many years.
No thanks to the democrats, democrat governors, the paranoid folks in St Louis and Kansas City area, this legislation has never been able to get over the hump. Many thanks, however, goes to the other good people of Missouri who have consistantly supported these bills.
At least it looks like this year might be the year it could pass.
