Was shooting my Izzy M38 today

Was trying out some different loads in my M38, well now it would be yesterday. Gun showed a real preference for Varget Powder. Tried 4 different loads, 2 with RL15 an 2 with Varget. One of the Varget loads went 3\4 of an inch at 50 yards using 150 Grain PRVI Bullets, Graff Brass and Remington primers. Not bad with open sights. Admittedly I have taken the barreled action out of the original stock, which I still have, and put it in a synthetic stock. After I get done doing what I want to with it I'm going to put it back to original, but for now I just want to see how well I can make it shoot, makes a light handy little carbine.

That is a good group at 50 yards.

You might try the 312" diameter Hornady 150gr SP as well.

I still have a pile of them .311 147 grain pulled FMJBT's Wideners had a while back, so I'm using those. But mostly I use H4895 or IMR4895 powder.
