What BS. Just because you have a discenting opinion, doesn't mean you have to express it. And if you do express it you don't have to explain it. It should speak for itself. I have nothing personally against the Dixie Chicks, in fact I really don't know much about them except they sang at the super Bowl and are cute. Mental and political brain trusts, I think not!

More than that they are also huuuge supporters of the WWF,thats the World Wildlife Federation, and animal rights group. One in fact that is rumopred to have ties to ELF and Alf, two of the most violent animal rights terrorists.

They really screwed up....the let the little fat Dixie Chick open her mouth. Of course, the Chixie Dicks are gonna feel this one. 99.9% of their fan base are good red blooded flag waving Americans. Album sales shall drop. Country station in San Antonio have already boycotted playing their music. The ball is rolling.

This got too much media coverage however.

You've got to be responsible for what comes out of your mouth. Obviously, in the entertainment business a lot comes out of your mouth so you'd better use a lot of discretion.

For the Dixie Chick to have told the European audience that she was ashamed that Bush was from Texas was either naive, pure stupidity, unupatriotic, an attention getting wild statement, or disloyal to America when we need every American's support.

Hope their fan base gives them what they deserve.

Thumbs down

I read in the paper that they were overwhelmed by the anti-American sentiment over there in Great Britan, guess they wanted to get a big hand by the audiance, but in my opinion they were completly out of line!
I know it is popular to some to bash America and the Presdent to gain favor with the media, but that was a really low blow, especially when the man is having to deal with so many pressures at this point,I really respect him and he is my President, but I don't know how he can stand it,I couldn't!

They are about to find out that the power of their statements are directly related to record sales. Country music fans aren't so forgettable when it comes to patriotic statements.

I felt I couldn't just let this one pass w/o sending the following:

I was glad to hear that you had the courage of your convictions to speak your mind in public. I was dismayed about the content of your statement, however. While the statement was aired in front of a large crowd, it appears that the apology was merely a printed press release. If you were courageous enough to make a public statement denouncing the leader of our country, then I would think that you would have the courage enough to make your apology in the same manner. It would appear that the apology was not as heartfelt as the original statement was. It would also seem that you can not fathom the ramifications of your actions in public. As a fellow citizen of the United States of America, do not assume that you may speak for me in public. As an "ordinary citizen" I may not have the access to such forums as you do as an entertainer, however, I find that I, along with many other citizens like me, chose to utilize different strategies. We chose not to support you and "vote with our wallets". I just wanted you to know that I will NOT support you or the Dixie Chicks anymore.

Sincerely,

--UR

Angry

Uncle Red,I and everyone I have spoken to feel the same way as you do,I realize not everyone does, but I guess I don't travel in the same circles as those that approve of thei behavior.
I think they are a fairly talented group, but they are in the position of popularity mostly because of thier backers, there are a lot of folks much more talented than they who will never get the kind of backing they do,why,I don't know.

I told you so

A local radio group (triangle broadcasting) has pulled all of their music from their playlist.

A town in kansas(?) took several thousands of the Dixie Chic CD's put them in a pile and Bulldozed them over.
