Question Airguns?? Archery?? Back Yard fun??

As much as I would like to vist the range and shoot every day...pesky things like work, sleep and of course ammo $$ prevents me from enjoying myself as I would like........
So the Doglips is looking for a way to have some CHEAP fun...maybe get a little back yard range time...
Do any of you use airguns to practice??? Any recomendations??
How about Archery????

My back yard faces a large ditch so back stop not realy a problem...also its legal in my area (air guns that is)...Think the neighbors would have a fit if I did the 22 squib loads

Crosman RM577...very nice airgun for the price...$169.00, polished hardwood stock...comes with a nice 4x scope AND peepsights if you prefer...fit and finish is outstanding. Looks like a regular rifle til you get right up on it. .177 caliber Single stroke break action barrel. Would I steer ya wrong buddy!? 1,000 FPS after break-in. 1,200 FPS to start.

Been thinking about an airgun range in my yard too. Does Hi-point make airguns?

I second the crossman

Howdy.

I second the air rifle.Crossman makes a good gun. I have a 60 ish dollar crossman from Wally world that my son and I use in the basement.

I am looking at a Gamo though. Sheridan also makes a fine air rifle or two.

I have the Crossman pellet trap for a backstop and I hung a 4x4 section of heavy canvas about 6 inches off the wall to trap any misses. So far not one has ricocheted back out of the 3 times someone has missed the target trap.

BOW???

STARTED HUNTING WITH A BOW IN THE EARLY 50'S LEARNED THE INSTINCTIVE SHOOTING METHOD (NO SIGHTS). GIVE IT A TRY SOME TIME . LEARN TO DRAW AND FIRE AT THE SAME TIME AIMING AT A POINT YOU WANT TO HIT. I.E. NO MOVING TARGET NO BUILT IN LEAD. MOVING TARGET A POINT WHERE YOU THINK TARGET AND ARROW WILL CROSS AT THE SAME TIME. FOR STARTERS TRY ONE OF THE NEW BOWS THAT WILL FIT JUST ABOUT ANYONE ..CHECK OUT YOUR LOCAL BOW SHOP AND YOU WILL FIND PEOPLE MORE THAN WILLING TO HELP YOU. MOST HAVE A RANGE IN SHOP TO ALLOW YOU TO TRY WHATEVER BOW YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN. BEST OF LUCK

You should of seen my mama running through the yard trying to collect those things 5 minutes after she bought them for us, hehehehehe.

The first time one of us dorky little rugrats threw one of those straight up into the air and just stood there and looked at it come on down right on top of us my mama went burzerk

Do not give yard darts to 4th graders!! That was her rallying cry back then.

On the subject on BB guns and such... I was watching some gun show on TV the other day, and they had a couple of trick shots at the end, and the guy was using a Daisy Red Ryder. He shot at a balloon about 60 or 70 (can't remember exact distance) YARDS and popped the thing!!

I have a cheap bb gun that I have borrowed to my brother. I can't even remember the brand. It was one of those 30-40 dollar deals from K-Mart, or Walmart... Its nothing spectacular, but fun to plink with.
