Outdoor ranges south of the Atl

Does anyone know of any outdoor ranges south of Atlanta? I know there have to be some but when I have done a web search the only thing that comes up are private membership clubs none of whom seem to be accepting applications.

shooting ranges

I am not sure how far south of Atlanta you want to travel, but Charlie Elliot wild life management area has a very nice range. They a 50 and 100 yard range. A WMA stamp will get you access to the range. They run $20.00, but that is for the year. If you are a hunter or fisherman, and you buy a Ga. Sportsmans license your stamp is included...Ray

Shooting Ranges

It may be to far south for you but Hanahatche WMA in Richland/Brookland had an excellent range, I have not shot there in 5-6 years so I say had, check with WMA. If I remember correctly it's a 100 or 150 yard rifle range with covered firing point tables. The 50 yard pistol range is open with graveled walk ways. The was a sign in book and the range was checked by WMA and local deputies at random. It was dirt roads getting in and I doubt they have been inproved, if it's real wet its interesting but skill building.
If you're into or have a curiousity about muzzleloading and you're within reasonable driving distance of Columbus drop me a PM and we'll see if we can put something together. Pmacaiman

I live west of Atlanta, but I drive down to the West Point WMA just north of LaGrange to shoot. It has a covered concrete firing line with paved roads to it and 100 yards of open range that you bring your own target stands and targets to. It is completely open to the public with no parking fee and no WMA stamp required.

Here is the Georgia DNR website about their ranges

And here's another site but it has more info about the different ranges

I live right there on the AL/GA stateline and was about to mention the WMA range in LaGrange GA.
