Those are the ones you have to watch out for. We get those up here too. Sad thing is when you drive say into Anchorage (biggest city here, but not big compared to what you have

) the majority of vehicles in the ditch are usually 4wd SUVs

. I drive a 4wd Ranger and I know that I can take off just fine because of 4wd......stopping on the other hand is a whole other issue

. You have to time your stops, cant just slam on the breaks. Some people still dont understand that.
As a matter of fact we had bad bad freezing rain yesterday, roads were the worse I have seen in almost 8 years up here (no joke, that bad) I could NOT go over 30mph without my truck wanting to spin circles down the road. I had to slow down to 17-18 mph and keep in in second and use my manual tranny to keep my truck going slow down any hills because once you touch the brakes, it was over.
