Another really good tune!

"The Wind Cries Mary"
Jimmy Hendrix

After all the jacks are in their boxes,
and the clowns have all gone to bed,
you can hear happiness staggering on down the street,
footprints dress in red.

And the wind whispers Mary.

A broom is drearily sweeping
up the broken pieces of yesterday's life.
Somewhere a Queen is weeping,
somewhere a King has no wife.

And the wind it cries Mary.

The traffic lights they turn blue tomorrow
And shine their emptiness down on my bed,
The tiny island sags downstream
'Cos the life that they lived is dead.

And the wind screams Mary.

Will the wind ever remember
The names it has blown in the past,
And with this crutch, its old age and its wisdom
It whispers, "No, this will be the last."

And The Wind Cries Mary.

Believe it or not this was a really popular song in the bush
(Joe McDonald) cynical troopers, and contrary to popular belief we did not sing god bless america

Yeah, come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
He's got himself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in Vietnam
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
We're gonna have a whole lotta fun.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a ****,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on generals, let's move fast;
Your big chance has come at last.
Gotta go out and get those reds
The only good commie is the one who's dead
And you know that peace can only be won
When we've blown 'em all to kingdom come.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a ****,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Huh!

Well, come on Wall Street, don't move slow,
Why man, this is war au-go-go.
There's plenty good money to be made
By supplying the Army with the tools of the trade,
Just hope and pray that if they drop the bomb,
They drop it on the Viet Cong.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a ****,
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on mothers throughout the land,
Pack your boys off to Vietnam.
Come on fathers, don't hesitate,
Send 'em off before it's too late.
Be the first one on your block
To have your boy come home in a box.

And it's one, two, three
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a ****,
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower
(written by: Bob Dylan)
Buy this album!
From the album "The Jimi Hendrix Experience"

There must be some kind of way outta here
said the joker to the thief
There's too much confusion...
I can't get no relief

Business men, they drink my wine
Plowman dig my earth
None were level on the mind
Nobody up at his word
hey, hey

No reason to get excited
The thief he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
But, uh...but you and I, we've been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us stop talkin' falsely now
The hour's getting late, hey

All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants, too
Outside in the cold distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl

:guitar:  :guitar:

No yer not Shrike

Hey Dumas (thats pronounced dumbass)...LOL!

You are able to learn from them that made the history....

And there was an awful lot of great music your generation missed. Haven't you learned anything since we met??

Here is another little ditty from a good group...

THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER
Jim Morrison/The Doors

Wait until the war is over
And we're both a little older
The unknown soldier

Breakfast where the news is read
Television children fed
Unborn living, living, dead
Bullet strikes the helmet's head

And it's all over
For the unknown soldier
It's all over
For the unknown soldier

Hut
Hut
Hut ho hee up
Hut
Hut
Hut ho hee up
Hut
Hut
Hut ho hee up
Comp'nee
Halt
Preeee-zent!
Arms!

Make a grave for the unknown soldier
Nestled in your hollow shoulder
The unknown soldier

Breakfast where the news is read
Television children fed
Bullet strikes the helmet's head

And, it's all over
The war is over
It's all over
The war is over
Well, all over, baby
All over, baby
Oh, over, yeah
All over, baby
Wooooo, hah-hah
All over
All over, baby
Oh, woa-yeah
All over
All over
Heeeeyyyy

That was a great post by sniper, i think morrison was reffering to this war blasted over the networks for what --8 years and seeing it at breakfast and all the freaking time, lord shrike this is a time of great upheavel for vets and people who demonstated against the war, I cant describe it, but i know it was not fun for any one, it was a very sad time for the United states, and the military and vets returning home, it was a shi-tty little war, for everyone, and 58000 dead for no reason, dam macnamera, and lyndon

All I know about veitnam I learned in history class and from watching oliver stone movies. From what I can gather we shouldn't have been there in the first place and once we were there we should have fought the war to win instead of trieng not to lose. I work with a few nam vets and they seem to feel that way. One thing I will never understand is the peace protesters who called our soilders baby killers and spit on them when they came home. Like they had any choice in the matter most were drafted but had the stones not to run to Canada. I can understand protesting against Johnson and the gov after it became what a cluster **** that whole conflict was but not that.

Cool Jim Morrison & The Doors....

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again

Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
In a...desperate land

Lost in a Roman...wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah

There's danger on the edge of town
Ride the King's highway, baby
Weird scenes inside the gold mine
Ride the highway west, baby

Ride the snake, ride the snake
To the lake, the ancient lake, baby
The snake is long, seven miles
Ride the snake...he's old, and his skin is cold

The west is the best
The west is the best
Get here, and we'll do the rest

The blue bus is callin' us
The blue bus is callin' us
Driver, where you taken' us

The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door...and he looked inside
Father, yes son, I want to kill you
Mother...I want to...f**k you

C'mon baby, take a chance with us
C'mon baby, take a chance with us
C'mon baby, take a chance with us
And meet me at the back of the blue bus
Doin' a blue rock
On a blue bus
Doin' a blue rock
C'mon, yeah

Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die

This is the end............................

The Lizard King was a raving madman when he felt like it. People are Strange is one of my favourite songs but Comfortably Numb is my #1.

dont believe every thing you hear shrike, hell i had members of my own family, and friends from school protesting, what fueled that whole problem is the white house would not sh-it or get off the pot, I have never talked to any one who protested the war, who was against the troops, or thought me a baby killer, or other such nonsense, hollywood and the liberal press, would have liked to spit on me, most people protesting were dam tired of a meat grinder war, killing people when they knew dam well, that war could have been over easy, but macnamara and his cronies thought we could kill them faster than they bred, dont get me going, when you are from an unpopular war, you will be ignored, and pushed aside, the american populace will not support"a police action" like this baloney, lyndon johnson( sorry texans) brought this on himself, but i hold no grudges to protesters, they probably saved countless lives in this world of sh-it, and shortened the misery because LYNDON JOHNSON HAD NO BALLS

Yes......I was actually going to give an update post very soon. I have said before that our guitarist runs a recording and rehearsal studio as his personally owned business. We were rolling right along with recording the five song EP, but then we lost a member of the band, replaced him, then had to get rid of the replacement due to a work ethics problem. We replaced the replacement, and are rolling right along now! I give it a month or a month and a half......we have added songs and chunked others.......the process is endless it seems...but I have not forgotten any of ya!

Sounds like the beginning

Howdy 1*,

Your band history sounds like the beginning of Monty Python and the Holy Grail......

The producers of this film wish it to be known those in charge of sacking the people who wrote the credits have been sacked....
