MOVIES, Best shootout scene

There are only three that really stick out in my mind, the rest just blur togather with the rest of Hollywood's creations. Best cowboy scene is the last shootout in Young Guns, the slow motion makes sure you don't miss anything. Clint Eastwood's The Gauntlet, the house shootout (falls in from all the holes) or the bus shootout. All of Blackhawk Down.

Heat - The bank robbery.

That reminds me about a move coming up - 47 Minutes. Its about the bank robbery in LA that ended is a nasty shootout.

Yeah, "Heat" was cool! Had good scenes in "Last Man Standing" too! :gangster:

There was a movie in the late '80's ... EXTREME PREJUDICE, with Nick Nolte and Powers Boothe. SERIOUS shootouts!

Also, DEAD BANG with Don Johnson... well directed shootouts for a B-grade move. I found it on DVD for $5.00!

I think you all covered the good ones. Although if you want to see some serious gun play, rent/find Mean Guns. With Ice T, Christopher Lambert and several other B actors/actresses. It is a seriously twisted flick. It takes place in a soon to open max security prison. About 50 bad guys start the film. The last one standing is suppose to get 3 million cash. It is really good.

Huh,,,

Well I was gonna say Several in last man standing, as well as the lobby scene in The Matrix..

But then, although not a shootout per se...several scenes in The Blues Brothers were cool! Especially when the M-16 weilding Army guys machine gunned the stairwell door open............
(hey...........he broke my watch!)

Gene Hackman/Clint Eastwood At the end of Unforgiven.

Deserves got nothing to do with it.

Or Ron Howard and John Wayne in the Shootist.
That was sad.
Hell there are lots of great shoot out scenes in American movies

Dennis:

Your right, I forgot about that scene at the end of Unforgiven. Best line leading to a shootout "You all might want to back away from there", ending with "He should have armed himself if he's going to decorate his saloon with my friends".

I also forgot the opening battle scenes in Enemy at the Gates, and Saving Private Ryan, both have enough shooting and brutality to last a life time.

Thumbs up

"We Were Soldiers . . . " - very intense gunfight!

Not a "gun fight" per se, but the scene in "Behind Enemy Lines" with the downed US Pilot running from the bad guys, as they pour on AK, machine gun and 40mm cannon fire through the trees at him. Whooee!

Anybody catch the scene in Blackhawk Down, where a Skinny catches an RPG round? It sure ruined his day!

For the "wierd gunfight" award - Rambo 2 - the "jousting match" between Rambo in the Russian tank and the Russian officer in the Hind Gunship. Kind of a draw, but of course Sly walks out alive.
