Believe it or not CNN had a segment on last night that was fairly accurate about the differances between a preban and postban AR15. They then showed them shooting at cement blocks and the preban actually did less damage, but they also voiced over that the shooter had been more accurate and had a smaller pattern. The demonstrator then pointed out the mainly "cosmetic" differances in the two weapons. I was shocked at how balanced the report appeared to be. I guess they caught enough flack that they had to rerun the story. The link also explains why they went to great lengths to show that both weapons fired the same round. Somebody at CNN must have found himself in the hot seat. The only thing I didn't see was a retraction of the first story, until reading about it here I never knew it existed.

the damage has been done. CNN got its message out, and tons of promos before. i didn't see the revised story but they sure didn't give it the build up that they gave the bogus story!!!
