Well, finally after 3 weeks of this thing sitting on my kitchen table, the girlfriend and I are headed out to the range. Report including her opinion to follow later today.

Well, it was a great morning of shooting. There were mixed reviews on the SP101.

My girfriend said: It was just the right size and not too heavy. After shooting a couple of cylinders of 38+p's, that she had absolutely no interest in touching the 357's I had on hand. The trigger was too heavy for her, but she is just going to have to get stronger.

I am slightly more experienced with large handguns. I thought it was pretty managable with the +P's. Still pretty stout though. When I shot the first 158gr 357, I let out a big "whoah!". Kinda cought me off guard. I shot it very well even with the big loads, but the 357's were quite a handfull. Next time i want to try some 125 grain 357's.

On a seperate note, a lady about 3 stalls down had a S&W Airlite 357 and I almost though it kicked less than the SP101 as weird as it sounds.

I paid for it. The deal was that if she broke up with me or hated it, it reverted back to me. It WILL have a good home one way or another.

I used to be a S&W fan but as soon I got my hands on the Ruger, I noticed that the attention to detail was superb and they gave the extra mile in craftmanship, I've become a Ruger fan now!!!

I'm not trying to upset any S&W fans, it's just that the quality of the finished gun, in my opinion, Ruger is best out there.
