I bought this at a local antique mall awhile back. It was missing the seat but otherwise sturdy. It sat there for at least 5 months. It always caught my eye and the price tag kept dropping. I made an offer of $75.00 and she came home with me. I would love to know more about it. I have checked online with no luck. The seat in the picture is one I made, not original. Any info or a point in the right direction to get it would be appreciated. Thanks Pontiacdm

I have not seen one quite like it. Its a nice rocker and looks in very good condition. Is it hand carved in the back. I collect some antiques. Looks like a really nice rocker for $75
My Mom took at look at the pictures and she thinks it was probally manufactured sometime in the 20's from the overall style. The back piece is called pressboard. The wood was carved to its basic shape and then it was soaked in water then a press was used to imprint the pattern of the face of it. The way to tell is if the lines were carved they would have much sharper edges. The pressed woof has soft edges to the pattern. She liked the chair and said it was well worth the $75 bucks you paid for it.
