Question Movie blamed for racing deaths????

I just cut/pasted the first part of this artical....to ME this is total BS..to BLAME a movie for a persons behavior....I seen lots of movies in drivers education....they were not credited for my driveing behavior....like wise I love road runner cartoon....yet I have not had the urge to strap a acmy rocket pack on my back and run off a cliff....I belive that a movie..song..tv show may influence people to use words on the show...maybe to even dream of catching the road runner but I belive that people over age 3 can not and should not blame a movie for their actions!!!!!

Am I just goofey? What do you all think about this?

Movie blamed for racing deaths

MIAMI -- William Lacasse Jr. had just pulled out of a gas station in his mother's Corvette when two cars zipped by and flashed their hazard lights at the 17-year-old in a challenge to race.

Lacasse floored it.

Moments later, he crashed into a concrete light pole and was killed -- another victim in a string of deaths around the country that some are blaming on 2 Fast 2 Furious, a movie about street racers that hit theaters three weeks ago.

I just saw the film last weekend, not to bad. But I've had no urge to go street racing for real. Young guys in hot cars will always want to race. The question should be why did that kids parents allow him to drive a 'vette. Sounds like mom is the one with the problem. Poor parenting, lousy example setting.

I don't think it was the movie - I remember my younger days 16 - 21 I had a hot car (900Hp Twin Turbo Charged 460 CID In a Cougar) and street raced late at night . The local PD even condonned it by blocking the road for us and using the patrol cars for the lighting systems. It wasn't until the Chief changed that we had to go over to the drag strip.

The movie may contribute to it but didn't this same thing come up when American graffiti came out

I'll go with Dallas on this, what idiot gives the keys to a Corvette to a teenager? Obviously the little idiot couldn't even manage the basics of driving let alone RACING. At least he only managed to kill himself instead of taking out a family of 4 in their Taurus.

Shifting the blame again, huh? Man, this is getting old!! Never mind mom made a mistake in letting junior drive a 'vette. Never mind the fact I am sure he knew the dangers of racing. Never mind the fact he made the decision to hit the gas. Never mind that the moron was of free will.
Aw, hell!!! No one is responsible for their stupidity these days!!

Yep, just like Ozzy's music makes people kill themselves because of the lyrics.

We went thru the same thing here after "Fast and Furious" came out. All these little Honda Civics on steroids.....kids getting killed racing and stuff. The news blamed the movie......total BS.

For every Honda on steriods there is 50 Hondas with a Folgers coffee can on the end of the muffler to act as a resonator and another 20 that just cut the muffler off. Just a bunch of riced up junk with half @$$ed drivers making a lot of noise.

I also notice how Hollywood can make you drive fast, but nobody blamed "Driving Miss Daisy" for all the slow drivers.

Just thinnin the heard again!

I also just heard a 10 year old and a 14 year old were trying to duplicate a stunt they saw on Jacka ss, the movie.

Yup, you know there is some real fancy thinking about to happen here!!

Well it seems idiot kid A doused idiot kid B with charcoal lighter fluid.........

It seems there was a stunt where one of the Jacka sses in the Jacka ss movie was set on fire and rolled to put it out.

You see whats coming yet?

Well mowron A lights up, freshly coated mowron B.

It seems they had a little trouble putting out the fire. I guess mowrons burn exceptionally well!

Idiot B has serious burns to his face, head, neck and hands etc...

Who does the media and the parents blame? Yup, the movie! You know I watched Wile E Coyote sit on a bomb and blow up, and he was all black for a little bit then he was fine, I think I am gonna do that, it would be funny!

BTW Papa, when God drops the big rock, hopw many of these big idiots will hold up the little Wile E Coyote umbrella to protect themselves?

i guess if people were to watch an x rated movie and go have sex after and end up pregnated then they can say it was the movie producer's fault.can i sue for my two kids being born?
i think that's what caused it.i didn't have the erge to do anything till that movie was put in the vcr then all hell broke loose.twenty positions and 16 years later and i still am wondering what happened.
