Talking Local Brews

growing up in the Delaware Valley, there were a number of small breweries usually a regional market.

2 of my favorites was Camden Beer in Camden NJ, and Ortliebs in Philadelphia Penna. driven out by the big time brewers.

does any one remember a favorite local brewery of the past??? and NO I DO NOT MEAN THOSE UPSCALE YUPPIE MICROBREWERS, the real deal that catered to the blue collar trade.
:cheer:

Lightbulb

We used to have a neat little eatery here in town that had it's own micro-brewery - but unfortunately it was burned in a fire.
Don't know if we have any other small local breweries.

A-1 Beer. Use to be brewed in Phoenix I think. It was around for many many years. Still see some old antique signs for it occasionally.

Lone Star Light......used to be in San Antone. They moved it to Ft. Worth now and it's all gone to crap! Even changed the label to look more like a Bud product.

Austin has a bunch of good micro-brews though.

Man, I loved Iron City Dark on tap! Used to get it at a bar out in the sticks, then the distributor said they wouldn't get it anymore due to the fact that this bar was the only one in the area who got it. Just wasn't worth it to the distributor...BASTAGE!
