Yeah, we got a blip here where I live. I'm about equal distance between Detroit and Cleveland. I was downloading updates when it happened! Half of Toledo is out, but luckily my side of town is running! People are stuck in elevators downtown and major intersections are lights out! People are stuck on the rides at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky...nothing "amusing" about that!

the officials say this is a power grid failure. just think of the fine example this gives terrorist, how to screw up us. NYC is totally shut down!!! nothing works. can you imagine if knowledgeble groups across the country hit power grids all at once!!!

I lived in N.Y. up until I went into the Army, I was there during the last big blackout in 1977. The last time it happened at night and the looting was not far behind, people trashed a grocery store and used the carts to haul food. The next morning we watched a mob of people push a safe from a check cashing store up the middle of the street! The police showed up and the mob split, lock and load if you are in the city tonight.

Also I am looking into converting the house electric system into one that goes toa generator when needed. No loss of ac or heat for me and the beer always stays cold!!!

I understand water is going to be a problem for some time even after the power comes back on.

hay I was hopein the power would have stayed out till sometime on friday afternoon, I had a dentist apt. at 2 today, they pulled one of my teeth, then told me not to drink any alcohol or smoke for 24 hours, what in tarnation do they think i'm gona do for the pain?
all kiding aside it isn't that bad, i'll live but with this gause in my yap my singin at kerioki tonight is gona sound wores than normal.
the power being out last night wasn't bad here everyone just kinda partyied on the porches and man I never knew i had so meny good lookin girls in the neighborhood, not a one over 25 though, gettin to old to chase em that young.

the day after here in my part of NY was like it never happened. sure everyone talking about it and all the stores where out of ice but other than that no changes everything back to normal.
