Early 50's Prices

THINKING ABOUT PRICES IN THE 50'S. BOUGHT A M1 GARAND FOR $25 AT A LOCAL GAS STATION IN DENVER. SOLD IT TWO YEARS LATER FOR $50 TO HELP FINANCE THE $67.50 I PAID FOR MY 1941 JHONSON AUTOMATIC. $25 FOR MY 1917 S/W. REALY BLEW IT ON A RUGER. $37.50 BLACK GRIP NOT RED.

Thumbs up Ok...us old geezers can dream, can't we?

...and gasoline was $0.18/gallon. A coke was $0.05 and a piece of pie $0.15 and pay for labor was under $1.00/hr.

Who said those were the good old days? I was 13 yrs old in 1950 and waiting for one more year before I could get a driving permit for $1.00(in Kansas). No driving or written test would be required till I was 16.

Had a 1933 Ford(Black) waiting in my yard I'd inherited from my grandad but wasn't officially allowed to drive till I was 14.
