Perhaps not exactly related to your question

In Texas many of us think of what we really want, draw a sketch, then get a welding shop to create our design.

It saves money, it is your custom design, you can put any type lock on it, and it is really burglar proof.

Best wishes.

BCS they have several different model lines depending on your needs and budget. From bottom to top they are the Scout series, the Armory series, The Patriot series, the Cannon series, and the Commander series. Prices and features escalate accordingly. I got the Scout S33 which is 60x40x24 with minimal fire protection (1200 degrees for 30min,) and an electronic lock. It cost me $769.00 plus tax and even on the lowest priced line of safes it has free parts, free labor and free freight. Here is a thread about it.

Cannon Safe?? Good stuff!!
I got my TS6040 from Tractor Supply when they did a big sale!!

Much to be said for a 36-rifle safe

Oh, use a set of Furniture Sliders to slip it into place over the concrete anchor holes for the bolts...
MUCH easier to move it that way!!
And once its bolted to the floor, ain't nothing short of Nitro-glycerine gonna move it!!

I haven't had any trouble with the electronic lock, but they will need battery replaced occasionally. My 4 year old grandson watched me unlock it a few times and being the techo geek that he is he intercepted the code so I reset it to keep him out of the loop.

I would suggest buying the biggest you can afford or have room for. I already wish I had gotten a bigger model. If you have several of longer rifles such as the Mosin Nagant 91/30 you will need to modify the top shelf for adequate clearance. I have almost outgrown mine in a very short time. Here is a a pic of what I did to the top shelf for the longer rifles. There are far less than 36 in there, but access to the one you need is already problematic. Oh well!!!!

Bigger is better. LOL

BCS, the shelves on the right side can be removed and that side can be used for long guns as well, and they also make a pistol kit that hangs on the inside of the door depending on your personal needs.

That is a good sale price. It was $999.00 when I was in the market for one.
