MEXICO CITY -- A real-life drama is unfolding in Mexico.
Police are searching for a movie props manager and the film's producer after an actor on the set was shot and killed -- for real.
One of the film's actors, Flavio Peniche, was apparently handed a gun with real bullets for a scene in the low-budget action film "Juana the Scorpion."
The scene called for Peniche to shoot six people. After firing what were supposed to be two blanks, he realized one of the other actors had been wounded.
Peniche said when he realized actor Antonio Velasco was unconscious, he called for help and tried to stop the bleeding. Velasco later died at a hospital in Cuernavaca.
Authorities arrested Peniche on suspicion of homicide. He was released on bail.
The props manager and producer disappeared shortly after the Saturday shooting incident.
