And also, do not forget, "a lot" is singular, not plural, so it takes a singular verb too.

I did that once and felt like the biggest idiot for the rest of the week. I must have woken up on the stupid side of the bed that morning. I blamed it on the lack of sleep but still
Its ok I occasionally find myself looking all over for my Cell phone only to have the person I am talking to while trying to find it tell me that I am currently talking on it haha.

I'm young and I still do that stupid stuff! Makes me kinda nervous about what might happen when I make it to my 40s!

Back during my drinking days I came home one night (actually early morning) from a friend's house after a game of "empty the liquer cabinet". In the morning I couldn't find my car keys. Searched high and low. Finally resorted to using my spare set. Two days later I found them, in the lock of my car's hatchback! These keys had my house keys on them also (I must have gone back out to get something after I got home). I parked in the driveway, so anyone could have walked past and taken them, my car and broken into the house. I quit drinking shortly thereafter.

Oh yes, we call that "Safe Place Syndrome"

There is no sense in over-reacting. :-)
