Thanks Neo! I wonder if we have someone willing to do a simple mathmatical analysis. The number of checks divided by the population of each State? There might be more interesting data.

It'd be neat if they broke it down into "gender purchases" to compare what's coming out in "2011" data with the previously posted info... since we're told purchases by women are through the roof.

Yes mam. It would!

That many people can't be wrong. We gonna stay free, and safe, by our our God given rights.
My brother called recently wanting suggestions on what to get for each member of his family.
Georgia did good too, and don't mess with Texas. There will be an ammo shortage soon.
I want to see a breakdown of new owners VS additional purchases. The media says additional, but they lie.

My state has more or less remained constant in the number of checks. And the number really isn't one of the higher ones. I'm kind of surprised, and let down a little bit at the same time.

What it doesn't show, and I'm glad it doesn't, lest it would show they're keeping track, and who knows, maybe they are, but those numbers don't show how many are the same person. It just shows how many NCIS checks were done for each firearm.
And look at the jump after the Obamanation took office.

I looked at New York State and found that from September to December 2008, or in other words from the time the Obamination looked to be winning the election and the post-election period, there was a 20% spike in the buying. It fell off in January and February 2009 to the pre-spike levels, but spiked again in March and April. I suspect that post-Christmas billpaying and getting tax return money accounts for both.
New York State may be officially a blue state thanks to the population of the Rotten Apple, but there's a whole lot of Upstaters who are more red than blue. If you look at the election results by county, you see blue in Long Island, the Five Boroughs, Westchester County and Albany. Almost all of the remaining counties in the state are red.
New York is definitely a place where the blue tail wags the red dog and no mistake about it.
