What any good little socialist aspires to, get rid of the roedblocks to the glory of a socialist state! It is truly a sad commentary on the situation in our country where so many of these maniacs have spawned and rose to power, right under our very noses! Were we asleep on watch?

Welcome to the Bill of Privileges.

"His Arrogance" has just one major problem....

The population of the country that is over 50 years old, and remembers what the founding documents meant.

His solution? Obamacare. It will selectively eliminate all the people over 60 in the course of the next 10-20 years, either by withholding vital medical services, or putting tax resisters and political dissidents in prison.

It`s worse than this. Since EVERYTHING affects personal health (and this is why, wisely, health care was never deemed or thought of as a RIGHT) EVERYTHING can then be regulated in the name of public health. This was Senator Coburn`s point during the Kagan confirmation hearings--if the commerce clause was perverted to allow for the justification of health care the ability to publish laws directing us to do anything could happen unabounded. This is only too obvious as we see the attack now--attacking the first of the first amendment. We effectively have no rights since anything can be construed as affecting our health (and numbers made up to justify state intrusion to save us from ourselves and others). This is why obamacare was such a priority--it intrudes into all aspects of our lives and opens the door to unbounded state intrustion.

Good thing we still have the 2nd and there are many good people in America. I only pray we will do what is right and save the precious gift of liberty for our children. This is the most important legacy we can pass on.

You all need to keep sight of the fact that the Obamanites view the Constitution of The United States of America as a "living" document, to be "interpreted" and re-interpreted with the passage of time, adjusting the law of the land as needed to suit the wants of the low of the land.

They reject any and all opinions which hold that noble document should be read with an understanding of the context of the times and literary standards in use when the founding fathers carefully crafted it, laboring, debating, and yes, arguing over every letter, space, word, and comma to make sure it meant exactly and precisely what they wanted it to mean.

And, yes, I know there are more than one "original" out there and that they do not exactly match one another. I am sure the justices of SCOTUS are aware of it, too.

Good ol` Eric Blair made this point very clearly in `animal farm` and their `living` interpretation of their own bill of rights. I hope you had the chance to teach it--we had an old and strict english teacher at the school I went to in Kentucky who had us read it and it was one of the better things we did.

`Living` interpretation is just another way for a liberal to say `I want to ignore this but don`t have the votes to amend it.` Our constitution provides for a specific amendment process--it`s hard and meant to be. The idea is to make it hard for a police state to run away. If we need to interpret, it`s not too far of a jump to realize by `papers and personal effects` that would be meant to include advanced media like telephones and e-mail and computers which did not exist at the time. The 2A affirms self-defense as a right as well as provldes for equivalent parity of arms between individual cizens and ANY tyrannical army (foreign or domestic) which might enslave free people. These concepts are timeless . But the statist wants `living` only to be used to TAKE AWAY your God-Given rights and repace them with phony ones that can be metered by the state (we take away freedom of speech, religion, and the RKBA and give you the `Right` of health care or `Right` of collective bargaining or `Right` of freedom from fear or `Right` to entitlements).

But what God giveth Caesar cannot take away. These real rights we have are our RIGHT, not some statists` gift--and I claim them as such and am prepared to protect and defend them (as many others) as I agreed to when sworn in.

One simple and grounded principle, it's "of and by the People". Not of and by the Government!

Exclamation Bill of Rights

DaTeacha: Sir, another read. Special considerations for the last line

President Obama's 'Housing Bill of Rights' | obama, point, bill - POINT/COUNTERPOINT - Colorado Springs Gazette, CO

"In other words, Mr. President, we don’t need yet another Bill of Rights. The first ten amendments of the Constitution do just fine"

I agree that the constitution is imperfect.

The first amendment only recognizes print media as protected speech. Our constitution should recognize radio, internet, and tv media as protected speech.

You forgot to mention FOR the people. Not for the benefit of those who envision themselves as the ruling class, the elected elite, or whatever term you want to use for the self important politicians who feel it is their right, perhaps even their duty, to tell the rest of us how and perhaps even when, to live our lives.

Coupled with the comments above about agism, does anyone remember reading or watching "Soylent Green" and "Logan's Run"?

As an aside, I went last week to celebrate the 100th birthday of my Aunt Helen, a devout and conservative Catholic for her entire life.
