This JUST happened here in TX

Warren Junior High student brings gun to school - KTRE.com Lufkin and Nacogdoches |

Just down the road from us down in Tyler County.
Kudos to the folks down there who acted quickly to get a quick and safe resolution!

We don't know the whole story, so this could also have been another incident of an unloaded and locked gun being in someone's trunk. But until we know more about the situation, I can say that I feel that appropriate action was taken.

Kids ALWAYS will (and should) have access to guns. It is up to the parents to train them properly in their use and safety. Training them to proficiency and letting them carry when safe and proficient and responsible. Kids of 17 (and younger--those who lied about their age) were carrying and shooting guns in WWII--even machine guns in B-17s--we will never grow up as a nation until we stop getting in the way of growing up.

I've been carrying a gun since I was 12.

I didn't take my guns to school, except when we were doing some demonstrations on firearms and it was quite normal--this happened around middle/high school.

Even Ward Cleaver used to shoot rats at the town dump when he was a kid.

I don't know when teenagers with guns became a problem--maybe the same time we started this nanny state BS, took prayer out of schools, stopped using judgment, starting suing each other for our own mistakes and kids started shooting up schools.

It has NOTHING to do with the guns and EVERYTHING to do with social values.

We shelter and shelter kids these days. I started introducing my 8 year old to guns when she was 5. She has been around them, she has handled them (unloaded) and she has had the fire of hell itself scared into her about what will happen if she EVER tries to access them when my wife and I are not around, and if she EVER finds a gun just lying around, she is to get an adult IMMEDIATELY.

I can trust her. I have already started her on a Red Ryder. She has dry fired my handguns and is starting to learn stance and how to hold a handgun. She is not ready for a 357 yet, but once she can prove to me that she can safely handle the Red Ryder, we'll start moving into something a little bigger like a Cricket .22 or something and go from there.

I have some work to do with her half sister (6yr) whom we are fostering, but she will have the same teachings.

These kids got more guns that the lot of us put together.
These kids have an imagination far beyond our comprehension.
And, if the liberal don't get a grip on the schools these kids will.
These kids are showing they are fed up with molestation and bullying.
And, across this nation these kids are going to take action.
If parents, teachers, and administrators don't get together the kids will.
