Retired General Wesley Clark for President?

Rumors are abounding that retired Four Star General Wesley Clark is considering running against Bush.

I remember, back in the late 90s, the CIA was doing an extensive investigation into Clark's position and conduct during the war in Kosovo but I also read that Clinton instructed the CIA to back off.

I've found the following link about some of that....but, I was wondering about everyone's thoughts on him. Pros...cons (and, no...I'm not considering voting for him)?

well if you don't think about him being a demo or republican he does have the military back ground and he has been in combat .
although he does lack political background but nobodies perfect. but if you want someone to have someone with a military background in office i guess he would be a good choice.

that's just my opinion.i don't look at the political party side of it..
but i do think we need a person with some knolege of some kind of economy background in his field too.but clark has a good millitary background history and not just a national guard or some other background .he actually served in a war and saw first hand what goes on . will he be a good guy ?? i don't know but does anyone ???

Angry Don't bet on it!

If military background alone were the big draw, McCain would be a front runner. Even Al the Bore served, in his own fashion.
I knew a lot of guys in the service who were raving DemLibs. Character and voting history count for far more, in my humble opinion.

What great military expeirence does he have other than Kosovo, which was basically dropping bombs from high altitudes until Slobodan said enough. The fact that he was Clintons NATO general should tell us all we need to know about him. Just remember foreign polocy under Clinton.

he served in vietnam . i don't think he should be president .he just don't fit in to the president's look . and Mcain also served in vietnam he would be a good choice for president .i was just trying to state that a person running for president should have atleast a back ground in both military (have served in a war) and have a good political background.i think if he has comanded troops and has served in the field in real combat and has political background that's who would get my vote (maybe)

Well I base my vote on whoever best represents my stance on issues. Military service doesn't hurt but its far from being on the top of my list of requirments.

I saw a plate on a car on the freeway to work one day that says it all. It simply said
"GETEMGW" and that was enough for me.

never said i would vote for either one of them .would like to see a guy in office with some combat in his background thats all. if we are gonna take on the world as it looks like some one has started to we are gonna need someone with a good millitary background (it wouldn't hurt) i'm not sayin this guy is the one i'm just saying the military background these days are a good thing to have .that's all.( i don't trust any politition )they tell you what you want to here then when they get into office it's a diferent story.

who cares if they are demo or republican it sounds like alot of people vote just for one party and thats it .what happens if the other party has a better guy? i don't care if he is demo or republican or what. if he can do the job then let him do it you shouldn't base you'er vote just on the persons political party.

wheni look at a person running for office his politcal party is the last thing i look at.just because he is a demo doesn't make him a bad guy just like him being a republican don't make him perfect.
and vise versa.

that's why when people ask what i am i a republican or demo .
i tell them i vote for the man that can do the best at the time .
and if i don't like any of them i don't vote.

Clark said on MEET THE PRESS back in June that on 9/11, he was contacted by a member of the White House Staff asking him to blame the attacks (WTC) on state sponsored terrorism directly linked to Saddam.

Does anyone believe a word of that? I for one remember the chaotic events of 9/11 in DC with the Pentagon, the President's safety, ect. I don't for one second believe that a White House Official would make a call to anyone in that regard on 9/11, much less Wesley Clark! This statement was an attempt by Clark to undermine the US/UK military action in Iraq and discredit President Bush. He needs to be held accountable to what he said and give names, otherwise, he needs to be dicredited as a liar.

Clark is a slick, teflon, tin horn, political puppet general, the military's answer to Clinton.

Jesse, I've read a lot more on this joker since I first began this thread.

In a nutshell Clark is one trecherous....'out for me'....evil personality who, if he had it his way during a conflict, would retreat faster than a derringer totin' gangster looking down the barrel of a .50 caliber.

I can't believe that the Democratic delegation (who will certainly investigate anyone they are considering endorsing) would ever elect him.

Plus the fact his sinister side is sure to come out during any Presidential campaign.

But, I've seen them Democraps do some strange and unpredictable things as well as has everyone in here.

Jesse, Sean Hannity of Hannity and Combs ripped him apart for that quote. Clark was back peddleing from that quote and others so fast he was trippin all overhimself. Thats one good sign for me personally. I don't think he can hold up under the pressure and scrutiny of a presidential campaing.

As for my vote it goes to the guy who will fight for the issues I care the most about. If the otherside has the better guy all the more reason to try and stop him. The last thing I want is a capable polotician taking our guns, keeping abortion legal, raiseing out taxes, driving god out of our country and so on and so forth.

Cool

I like the fact that he is ex-military but.....He is anti gun!!! He supports all the gun bans and this part makes me wonder. How can he think this way when he is ex-military? I agree, Mcain is a sack-O-shizzit! He should just join the dems! What a traitor!

Burning, gasoline soaked tires for them all!

Rufus did you spend some time with Papa Doc or what man? You seem to have a serious fetish with teh gasoline soaked tires. If were going to slowly execute polotical enemies creatively I vote for the the water slide that ends in a giant wood chipper method.
