Saw the same pic on the Weather Channel last week. Meteorologist said it was a fake.Said you don't see a wall cloud like that at sea

It could be real, providing it was close to shore. It is very unlikely to occur far out at sea though.

Who said it was at sea?

I have seen wall clouds just like that come off land and out over Lake Michigan, a few times.

It occurs to me that the ship could be inbound on one of the Great Lakes or traveling parallel to shore some miles off the land mass. The image is too dark to make out distant shorelines on the left.

I guess all I am saying is, it could happen.
