Angry Bill Cosby blames "the gun" in the death of Trayvon Martin

Sorry Bill,
You and everyone else.
Need to back off, and quit spouting nonsense.
Zimmerman is a American, and has the RIGHT to defend himself.
Both on the street, & in the courtroom. Let the REAL facts & investigation show what happened. Instead of attacking the gun, or convicting this man in the media!

If it turns out that Zimmerman is innocent, because Martin was beating him to death, are they going to give "the gun" the credit for saving Zimmerman's life? You know what people are forgetting in all this? That George Zimmerman is a human being too.

Dr. Cosby is a wise educator, but when it comes to comprehension of Constitutional rights, he's a ways behind the curve. I'd feel better if so respected a member of the American community would engage brain before operating mouth.

He is an actor and comedian. I don't know where he gets the title of social commentator. I suppose he forgets when he uses a firearm in his acting and helps perpetuate the use of a firearm in solving confrontations.

Ouch. A father should never bury a son.

In my humble opinion, this kind of flies in the face of previous Cosby commentary. You know, how he used to talk about black culture needing to pull up their pants, cut the victim mentality crap and starting acting like functioning members of society. If Trayvon Martin had taken Mr. Cosby's advice and hadn't been out acting and looking like a thug, this might not have happened in the first place.

Me thinks he caught so much pressure and anger from the Black community that he's decided to switch his views.

I am sorry for his loss but like all the others here, he's misplaced his attention to the instrument and not the BG. As the saying goes: "Guns don't kill, people do." Guns have saved lives fired or not as much as it has taken lives. Embrace and defend the Second Amendment as if your life depended on it. If America makes the mistake of giving ol' bobo a second term, be assured that more gun-rights persecution will come.

The real enemy is crime.

Yep. Or themselves for not teaching their kid to defend himself and making sure he had the tools to do it. This is the rub for me--displaced anger. Whether it`s VT failing to warn and a lawsuit (totally irrelevant and SOMEONE pays this money--it does not bring someone`s boy back) or suing the gun industries or gun-free states or idiot feel good zones it is dribble encouraged by the society of professional victims.

I do not tell others how to raise their kids but will make sure mine can defend himself and have the will and tools to do so. Like learning to drive, watching out for cars, or not sticking your hand in boiling water this is a basic part of parenting. I believe ALL kids should be taught firearm safety as well as how to be proficient with firearms.

Correct!! I started my youngest with toy guns, then we moved to underpowered BB guns. Paintball markers came next, then on to a .22. He now has his CCW, and uses it, and just Sat. he bought another handgun, a beautiful stainless steel Taurus revolver, in .357 magnum. Education is the key, not finger-pointing.

Didn't Bill Cosby fall into an affair with another woman some years ago? For all his talk on and about family he needs to practice what he preaches.

It's really sad when a society never learns and specially when it has developed and idiotic idea that peace can be achieved by depriving its citizens of the very tool that actually ensures it.

If they insist, why don't they disarm cops and abolish the military first. If that solves crime, deters terrorism and foreign agression then i'll be the first to beat my sword into a plowshare.

It's already bad enough that the constitutional right to bear arms for the preservation of life, liberty and property is being systematically curtailed. But opening up the people to more 9/11 kind of s**t and letting the gangs and all sorts of criminal elements do their thing is my definition of treason. I will not take it sitting down and heaven help us if these misguided fags and starry-eyed idealist libtards suddenly wake up with a civil war in their midst.

Times are not good and a lot of our people are angry, hungry and losing hope. We can help the law by keeping the people armed and properly trained for home defense. That way, the cops won't worry much about the good guys. They can focus on fighting crime and looking for urban terrorists.

The gubmint shouldn't use the gun issue as a smokescreen to hide the economic issues that they continue to f**k up big time. They ought to bring back jobs from abroad that our hard working men lost.

Get the jobs back. That will solve crime to a large extent. Simply put - Tired but fulfilled people at the end of a working day won't have time to think of bad things.

Me 2 cents.
