I don't care if telemarketers lose their jobs. That's the risk they take by working for companies who intrude on people all hours of the day and night. They get no sympathy from me for sure.

In MO the "No Call" law has been in effect for over a year and those calls have been stopped cold. Before...calls every day and night. Now it's rare to get that type of a call. Usually they claim to be taking a survey. Even that's B.S. They're just circumventing the intent of the law.

I have fun with tellamarketers....ask if newspaper comes in brail....for the political canadates..tell them I just got out of prison and the guy made the law that sent me....for sideing/paint...tell them I live in a teepee and pain with berrys....all others I say Im naked and ask what they are wearing...moan a little....then say Ive been a really bad boy.....gets me off a lot of list

Get an Unlisted number. I don't get any calls except those few that go down a block list of numbers IE... 234-0000 to 234-2000 etc... And those that do get through usually hear a list of profanities... I know its not the christian thing to do, but neither is aggravating the $h!t out of me.

How much you want to bet the don't call list is used to actually call people after this ruling!

Half the time I hand the phone to my 4 year old and let him talk to them, he loves it, I just hope he doen't accidently buy me a wad of life insurance or change our long distance service.. For some reason most of the calls that come in ask for me and don't want to talk to my wife, she responds with a big sob and screams "He's dead you *******s" and hangs up.

The Issue here is privacy. The constitution guarantees the right to speak, but not to be heard. Phone lines are owned by private companies which they rent out to individuals for a fee. This is no different than any other type of property, such as a car, boat, or house. Just as I have a right to put up a sign saying no tresspassing, I should also have the right to say DON"T CALL ME AGAIN YOU BASTID. In fact this already exists. A company can be sued for calling you after you have told them not to. The downside to this is that it is limited to each individual company and companies often sell the lists to each other, not to mention how many people actually take the time to document the harrassment properly and actually go through the time and money needed to prosecute them. This DO NOT CALL list is nothing more than an attempt to cut it off at the head.

I wish they would do something about junkmail, but the problem is that the mail is owned by the government and you know the government will never turn away money.

Well...here's an idea I received today that may be effective.

Over 50,000,000 Americans have signed up for the national do-not-call
registry. Judge Lee West of Oklahoma has just overturned the whole thing
because he says the FTC has exceeded its authority.

So 50,000,000 Americans who have loudly and clearly stated that they are
sick and **** tired of being bothered will have to continue to put up with
this.

Judge West's phone numbers are as follows:

Courthouse: 405 609 5000, fax 405 609 5099
the Judge's Chambers: 405 609 5140, fax 406 609 5151

I think Judge West needs a dose of what he seems to think is OK for the
rest of us - a few million annoyed phone calls ought to do it . . .

Pass these phone numbers around - if it is good enough for 50,000,000
pissed off Americans, it should be good enough for the Honorable Judge,
too.

Cute, Chris! I tryed something like that when I lived in south carolina but the dumb -ss just asked when would be a good time to call back! Go figure. I have an unlisted number, they call it all day and night, my fax line they call and send faxes. and my c-phone also is unlisted and they call that line all the time. How that butt---- judge cannot see that these people are nothing more than teleterrorists is beyond the normal thought patterens. That judge should step down voluntary or, we could fit him for a gasoline soaked and burning tire! Sounds good to me!:nod:

How did it get to be this big a business that the gummint is afraid to shut it down because so many of these leaches would have to get a real job. I wish we could open a huge can of whoop on and pour it on them!
