If you're an hunter you need to read this

Gov. Brewer, I just love her, just signed the bill allowing hunters to carry a handgun in addition to their hunting rifle for self protection against 2 legged animals out in the desert and mountains.

You could not hunt with handguns before? We've always been able to wear a handgun while hunting as it's a hunting weapon. I do find it interesting that people need a pistol as a back-up for a more powerful rifle. Heck, if my .300winmag won't stop something, my less powerful .44mag won't help.

If you have to drop your rifle to climb a tree to get away from a bear...
I think a few 44 slugs in the head from above might change the bear's mind on what to chase...
I carried both in CA when hunting in the Sierra mountains when I lived there.

I hunt bears with dogs and run THEM up the tree. There ain't no tree you could climb to get away from a bear. Hog yes. Bear no.

Our dogs don't have opposable thumbs so a .44 wouldn't do them any good. Beside, they don't wear pants so where would they carry the gun???

There's a bare possibility it could carry it concealed under it's coat!
