Well here are some new pics of this build. I guess sometime in the next couple of days Ill have her on her legs. I am also trying to get ordnance on her but there doesnt seem to be much in the way of Snakeeyes in the bomb department.
Paul, you don't do all the painting before you start assembly? I found it was easier to do it that way. Plus which, it let me use spray paint for the big parts. I got better results that way, although it did sometimes annoy Dad when I used surplus NASA spray paint that he'd brought home from work.

No sir, if I do that the cement wont get the parts to set and If I use C/A it only bonds to the paint and not the plastic. I do it this way because it flows better for me...
Well I have most of the good stuff on, I would say about another week and Ill be finished. A coat of future, decals,a coat of flat cover and ordnance. Then the fiddly bits and voila.
just two pics now just to show you how its going
Folded wings are no big deal. I once had a Corsair (F4U-4) up on the step with the wings folded. If the tower had seen me they would have had my ass!!! Why they didn't I don't know. I was on the way down to the compas rose and got carried away with playing with the bird.
To the model guys - anyone know of a big model of the P2V Neptune? I'd like to find one with a 2 or 3' wing span.

Sarge, get in touch with Paul and ask him. He just informedme that he found a whale, the ol' A3B like I flew during my last months over there. It ain't exact, but it's real close, and will look good in the shop! PM me your address, so I can send you the mag you needed matched to the pistol.
Those silly things didn't need a carbine! Even the F-4's finally got fitted with a nice BIG gun to take on the migs when they ran out of rockets. Well I did err, because my planes were gunless, except for the peashooters carried by the officers. But we supposedly had fighters somewhere in the area in case of trouble.
Col. 'Bud' Day flies "Misty I" again, forty years after being shot down over Vietnam. This is an F-100F painted in the markings of his old and long-gone bird. The Collings Foundation did a great job!

What a great video! Thanks for posting it Big Dog! I really enjoyed getting to see the Colonel fly in his "old" plane again. I was still there when the POWs started coming home, and it really touched me to see them once again on free soil. I couldn't seem to keep the tears away, and kept telling myself I was too old to cry, at twenty. It don't bother me anymore.....
