cocked hammer

i would like to know... is it ok, to leave the hammer cocked for long durations? no premature wear on any springs?

i like to sleep with my .45, cocked and locked at all times. 1 in the chamber and 10 in the mag.

there should be no problem leaving the hammer cocked for extended periods, assuming a quality spring.

I have never heard of it being a problem. I know several other 1911 carriers who leave theirs back virtually all the time.
