Ammo Price Escalation!!!

The May Cheaper Than Dirt flyer just arrived. M855 bulk packed in a 1,000 round box is $409.79.

Turn the page and on the inside cover it's $459.79!!! LOL! Someone made a boo boo.

Cheaper Than Dirt was numero uno during the pre 2008 election for insane price gouging and it looks like they are doing it again. Shame on them.

There are still plenty of people out there, if not the vast majority still selling bulk ammo for normal prices.

Yes, about Feb. CTD had some of the best prices on Federal/LC 5.56. Then in the Mar. sales catalog they began escalating prices above what they had advertised them at in their print advertising. Their AMM-223C is @ $409 on the website, but they are out of stock on it, so when they get it in it will very likely be $459....

I just want to find a source for milsurp 180 grain 7.62x54R, which is what Natasha likes best. If it's that hot de-linked machine gun ammo, that's even better. All I can find lately is 147 to 150 grain light ball. That's okay for the carbines, but the 91/30s don't like it nearly as well, and the Czarina, my Model 1891, hates it. (She likes the heavy 203 grain softpoints from Prvi Partizan that you could use to take down an elephant.)

I'd pay a premium to get that 180 grain milsurp, my guns like it so much.

More election year woes for gun owners. They are going to gouge us for all they're worth, and make lots of money off the fears of the American People!

Vassily FritzSmiter preffers the 147--wich is good for me, because I'm a recoil wimp, and I can find it cheap! Got enough FMJ to keep the Zombies and Molemen at bay, and am starting to stock up some sporting rounds to fill the larder with Deer--or those other Deer that sometimes wander around and have no antlers--the ones that say Moooo.

Cheaperthandirt really does lead the way in price gouging, and seemingly others follow.

Fortunately I still have 90% of the ridiculous stockpile I bought last time. I usually replenish as I shoot but I think I'll wait it out until 2014 when prices drop again.

It don't matter how high ammo goes, when the SHTF all ammo will be free for the taking.

Don't come around here unless you want it in component version.

I get my ammo over the counter locally cheaper than CTD or any of the other "surplus" online dealers.
And since we are naming our Mosins, I will name my M39 Irja Ivanslayer.

Obama and all the hoarders are making my hobby extra expensive again.
