My newest bullet bling

I really need to buy a press and some dies so I quit having to beg people to press these for me. Anyone know where to get the black bullet component? I have ended up with an assortment of different things people have given me and not sure where to find them or what they are called.

I can't help you out, but I just have to say, that is the prettiest cartridge I have ever seen in my entire life.

Not to state the obvious, but since you enjoy making them and there is probably a big market in there, you could make high-quality "novelty" rounds or even jewelry out of them and offer it at insanely high mark-up. I know I'd buy 'em!

That's what I'm trying to do. Once I get done paying back everyone that gave me brass with a necklace I plan on having a table at a gun show. I am going to make some this weekend and one is going to go on auction to benefit G&G and if Griz's fund is still open, one for him. I'll post pics when I get them done. I have about 100 pendants made now out of mostly .45 brass in nickel and brass and some 9mm and 40s and a few 22s. Some are engraved and some just have turquoise beads or jasper or swarovski crystals in the open ends.

You're doing a good job with the jewelry. I can appreciate it because my other half does it with beach found glass.

That sounds thoroughly awesome. You certainly have a talent there. Best of luck to you!

P.S. Whenever you market those, let me know 'cause I want some, preferably in .40 S&W.

That's some beautiful work there BunnyWabbit.

Just a thought on your black bullets.....
Birchwood Casey 'Brass Black' blackens copper as well, perhaps you could make your own.

I think Jerry nailed the black bullet origins. You can also find moly coated bullets that have a black/dark gray color but the coating can rub off IIRC.

I wonder if that would work to darken engraved lines and buff off if I get outside the line?
