what a day
got to spend yesterday at the ER
i was laying on the floor doubled up in pain. so i went to urgent care.
they thought it was an appedicitis attack.
after sonar and a CAT scan showed nothing.
it turns out i have a stress induced ulcer.
... after being at the docs for 10 hours.
i got to drive home all jacked up on morphine. (there was no one else to drive)
BTW morphine does not make you feel good.
not one of my best days.
but on the bright side.
i dont need surgery.
That's good you don't need the knife. Ulcer's can be very painful...watch what you eat.
Bland diets don't work well so if what you eat hurts...don't eat it. Takes awhile to get that figured out.
What did the doc put you on? Omeprazole is a really great acid reducer.
Milk is a good quick remedy for pain if you eat or drink something wrong...it coats the lining between the acid and the ulcer. I had extreme pain after drinking regular Pepsi but if I drank diet Pepsi no pain...go figure.
To get rid of the blasted thing, start running 3 miles a day for about six weeks...no stress and no ulcer. <wink>

I can't take morphine. It stops my heart from workin. When I had the heart attack the last words I heard the doc say before the lights went out were "don't give him anymore morphine, it will stop his heart". Not what you want to hear layin on a table in the ER in Tucumcarie NM. When I came to, after 3min the nurse was putin the paddles up. No out of body, no light at the end of the tunnel, and my first wife who passed wasn't even there to meet me. I got ripped. But I do NOT want a do over LOL.
billy just take care of yourself. And your not getting old. If you were getting old you would have the volume on the radio on max. That's how loud you would have to have it up just to hear the dam thing.
Loseing your hearing is a nice thing. Then you can hear what you want to hear, and filter out what you don't want to hear. And you say WHAT alot LOL.

You been hanging with us old farts for too long! But that's okay, you got everything in order for when you DO get old! Glad to hear it wasn't worse, and that you don't need any fancy stitching! You have got to let go of the stress, so it can't harm you any more than it already has. It's the number one killer in this country, and it isn't a good way to go. Find something that relaxes you, and do it daily if possible. We don't want to lose you to the Fellers, though I'm sure they'd love to have you!

Okay, I have to save you from the poison dealers, they sure ain't healers.
Soak raw almonds overnight, and re-hydrate them. Eat 10 each morning.
This will set your HCL levels for protein digestion. Get on Probiotics for the gut. 9-15 strains.
With each meal, find out what gets to you, and omit it and repeat. Sort out the trouble foods.
Digestive enzymes, EFA's 3,6,9, Glutathion, NAC, Stress formula, and a good powdered multi vitamin like Beyond Tangy Tangerine, sip on it all day. You have to re-fill the Tiger Tank, dude.
Your starving to death, no matter how much you eat. The body with the right stuff can heal itself.

When I was 30, I had a big bottle of Maalox in my desk drawer at work, and every time the stress hit, I'd pull that thing out and guzzle. I was proud of my ulcer; it showed I was a driven Type A personality. I also drank straight whiskey like a fish, and thought that was cool, too.
At the time, they thought ulcers were caused by stress, but they are just aggravated by stress. It's actually caused by a bacteria.
Now I'm 59, and I don't have ulcers, but I do have a hiatal hernia. It hit me some years back and I thought I was having a heart attack. Hurts. Bad. But as long as I don't do stupid things (for certain values of stupid) I don't know it's there.
And you are right: morphine doesn't make you feel good if you are taking it for medical reasons. At least that's been my experience, and I have had lots of experience.

billy, try contacting the American Legion. Believe it or not, years ago they published an article on how to cure an ulcer without pills. They get requests for reprints of the article regularly, so this should come as no surprise to them. Their method seems to work. It revolves around changing diet. You won't be able to use the red wine they advocate before a big meal, I know, but the bits on how to relax while eating and relax generally in your life ought to help you.
