need ur opinion

friday while i was picking my girls up from school,a friend of mine was there and came to my truck,he said his wife had just got a revolver from her dad and wanted me to help i.d. it. he didnt have it with him and couldnty discribe it in any words but "its real old" ...well i reached in the back seat and pulled out a copy of guns and ammo (what?...yall dont carry copies with ya?) and showed him an old saa colt and he said it looked like that but the bullets that were in the pistol belt looked funny cause they were so short.this threw me? he also said that it belonged to his wifes dad's grand pa. now he and his wife are in their early 60's if this helps with the time frame. what do yall think it could be? he is bringing it with him next week sometime for me to look at. i am to say the least very interested in this! whatever it is he is looking to sell it because he and his family are not interested in weapons (city boy) lol well lemme know what yall think? make some guesses and ill let ya know what it is next week after i see it.

i think after looking at it, and establishing in your mind what it is; offer him $500 for the whole rig and see if he bites. cheaper if you can.

man is p's me no end when some wants to sell a family heirloom(assuming it is old) cause they aren't intrested!!!

i know what ya mean papa! people today have no interest in history...even their own family history! he said the gun belonged to his wifes relative, he carried it when he was a sheriff! i have some of my fathers things like a gold watch my grand father gave him when he came back from korea after being wounded the first time and id starve to death before ever selling it! but i have no interest in watches at all...its not the object they need to have interest in its the link to their past and a way to honor the memory of their forefathers! grrrrrr but if i can get it from him it will be OUR family heirloom!
