Chicago will never "get it". They're too concerned with graft, corruption and the buying/selling of political offices. I applaud the ingenuity of the group to further the NRA, and shooting sports.
Keep one thing in mind though Jay, while they say it is about stopping crime or saving this/that... the only real motivation is to feel good about your intentions. That is the important thing... results and outcome are secondary to grandstanding about your intentions and immediate feel good factor.

I hear about buy back programs but I guess there are not enough anti's in northern california to do one - I know I could scrouge up enough non-functioning BB guns, 'replica' guns and even a few rusty-pipe long guns to finance something else! Sounds like a road trip to Oakland is in order.

That wasn't my point. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was saying that there are people on both sides that you wouldn't want to accept or represent those causes. I would call them "unconstituional" or just plain "wrong". That way that way, we hold both the legal AND moral highground.
We have the constitutional right to bare arms for defense of ourselves and our nation. Gun control should only be people being taught to be more responsible with them. Not telling us what we can or can't use to defend ourselves with. IF we can defend ourselves at all. I don't blindly trust our government no more than anyone else does here.
Thanks for posting that Papa G ! While the editorial was tripe the comments riping them a new one were priceless ! More people in illinois are saying enough ! I want my rights back ! Good for them !
