Obviously not, Tom...
What is the purpose of this "Thunder Mug Test"?
Anyone who has experience with black powder has done the same thing before...but probably not in a real thunder mug...If ya do use a real thunder mug; make sure that puppy is empty.

The title was so misleading. When I read it, I thought "who would post a video of that and why do you need to test one?" Not the "thunder mug" I was told about as a kid.

When my sisters used to spend time on my Great Uncle Clarence's farm, they would have to share emptying his thunder mug.
Other than that, they loved staying at the farm. I came along a little later, but I remember my great uncle (and great aunt) very fondly.
The thunder mug, not so much.

this site is very educational.... as a result of having read this post, and then having searched the definition of "thunder mug", i now know what a thunder mug is! i can even imagine how this slang term came into being.... kind of makes me go out and buy one....
OR WAIT..... we could start a thunder mug forum and compare recipes, and
.... etc.!!! (
