I just sent this to my Senators. I post this not for approval, rather for information. My elected officials are quite familiar with my name, and those at the State level and below, know me by sight as well.

If you intend for me to vote for you next election, you need to demonstrate that you will oppose, and lobby for all Senators to oppose the interdiction of our Constitution by the United Nations. The Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States should NEVER even be considered to be influenced by ANY other entity, of ANY other country, nation, or political organization.
YOU, and every other United States Senator took an oath to ".. protect and defend the Constitution of the United States ...."

I respect what you have done and have done the same. My senators and congressmen usually vote pretty consistently pro 2A; I have been writing letters about many things for quite some time.
UNFORTUNATELY, I really doubt this will do much good or work in the long run. The obama regime is doing things lawlessly by fiat, and will do the same to attempt to implement this treaty by fiat (it will NOT be ratified by the senate, and you are right that no treaty can supercede the constitution). Look at what has been done with amnesty for illegals, the DOJ, the EPA and CO2/Lead/everything else, drones, spending, multiple sales registrations, cutting off immigration enforcement by AZ, recess/NLRB appointments, etc. Holder has been found in contempt of congress, and the regime decided to pull a Nixon and invoke executive privilege--and they will likely get away with this. So we have a lying criminal as the top cop right now. The lawless regime acts irrespective of congress and this will continue.
They also got to Roberts (or he got to himself) -- he rightly stated the unconstitutionality of obamacare re the commerce clause but there is NO WAY the mandate can constitutionally BE a tax--it did not originate in the House in the manner required to be a tax, it does not meet ANY constitutional basis FOR a tax (as listed in our constitution), congress was clear it was NOT a tax, there is a very specific federal law requiring the tax to kick in before it can be challenged in court (which did NOT happen in that the mandate does not kick in until year after next), etc. The SCOTUS does not have the authority to legislate (and even the liberals dissented with this)--meaning that our government is far beyond operating outside of anything IN our constitution at this point. So to think writing your senator will have any practical deterrent in this runaway train unfortunately I believe is wrong. I didn`t get here overnight, but the ONLY way congress COULD have an impact would be to cut the money, and shutdown all or a portion of our government (i.e. pull the fire t-handle on the engine). It is hard to accept this, but unfortunately this is where we are. Bullies demand force and relatively draconian responses to corral them; our congress has been cowardly in making this happen and they are now largely irrelevant. Boener has been weak and ineffective; worrying more about dealmaking than saving America and no one in congress has stood up to accomplish what is right. We get some pockets of shots across the bow, but haven`t met a coordinated effort to stop the communization of America and they have caved at every turn (worrying more about appearances and backsides than saving the republic). We are now at the point we are hoping minions will read the Constitution and do what is right according to their Consitutional oaths; track records of other nations along these lines has not been good. We ARE now going down the path of Nazi Germany and many other nations that lost their constitutional government.

Who do I believe? Well, I'd like to believe that adherence to our Constitution would insulate us from thugs like the UN. Would I bet my life on it ? No...there's too many variables. That being said, I won't run around like chicken little either. That would accomplish nothing constructive. I'll pay attention, address my elected officials, listen, develop a few contingencies, and do my best to be situationally aware. If things go south, call before you come over... or bring Cheerios...
Obummer doesn't pay any attention to OUR Constitution because he wasn't born here, and doesn't feel that it applies to him. there's been so much hidden away from the American People concerning this character, and so much lying on his part that we most likely won't EVER get to the bottom of the subject. It is de-facto impossible for ANY treaty to superceed ANY provisions in the constitution. HOWEVER, our government has been operating outside the limits of our constitution for quite some time (as an example the 2A in areas of many of the PR states--PRNJ, PRCA, PRNY, PRIL, PRMD, etc is virutally nonexistent and good people are routinely jailed when running afoul of unconstitutional gun-control laws--we also have DHS quite illegally and unconstitutionally searching everyone everywhere).
At the end of the day--as far as those wearing uniforms of any type are concerned--it will come to those who direct the forces as to whether or not this is implemented (as Mao said--at the barrel of a gun)--or attempted to be implemented as the case may be. Basically those who direct the executive agencies will be those who will try to make this happen. No one else matters at this point.

A standing army would make the founding fathers roll over in their grave but we keep that around. The constitution has been meaningless for a long time.

TenMan, all we can do is keep on shouting at our elected servants, and be prepared for the worst possible scenario. If the administration attempts to use our military against us, I hope there are some cool heads in the pentagon. It is also against the law for the executive branch to do that very thing, and would give the Joint Chiefs a clear and easily understood reason for arresting him for high treason. I think the US may not sign this treaty because it would limit the US's ability to arm states or rebel factions that are not on the UN's list of states that are allowed in weapons trading. That the treaty impacts the 2nd Amendment is of no importance to the US's negotiators, but if the treaty isn't signed by the US, Obama wouldn't have to deal with gun-owners' backlaqsh.

Thank you for contacting me regarding gun control legislation. Like you, I believe the right to bear arms is guaranteed by the Constitution’s Second Amendment. The recent Supreme Court decisions reinforced this fact, but I believed that this was the case prior to those decisions.
While I certainly respect the Second Amendment to the Constitution, I believe that we have a collective interest in keeping guns out of the hands of those who want to harm the innocent. I believe it is possible to strike a reasonable balance. I have long advocated for faster and more accurate background checks so legal purchasers can receive their guns quickly while ensuring criminals do not illegally purchase and possess firearms. In 2011, I proposed S. 436, the Fix Gun Checks Act to provide more funding to states to compile required background data for the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). This legislation builds on the National Rifle Association-supported NICS Improvements Amendment Act, passed by Congress in 2007. Ensuring that this information is comprehensive and up to date will protect law enforcement from criminals with illegally obtained weapons while speeding up the process for purchasing legal firearms.
You may also be pleased to know that I have successfully fought to create new opportunities for law abiding citizens to exercise their right to use guns. For example, in the 109th Congress, I secured federal money to expand the scarce hunting grounds in New York State by creating a financial incentive for private landowners to allow hunters access to their property.
