Keep safe, and bail out if you have to. Remember property can be replaced. People are what matters most.

Unhappy

I'm watching Channel 4. I'm watching houses, barns, cows, and horses burn up! It's so sad. I'm moving water around the house. There's a Chinook out here dropping water. They'll be hitting my pond soon for water. This is horrible! People are losing everything! I'm still moving water.....

Angry

They've evacuated my mother-in-law and my brother-in-law!..... Some prick started another fire in Luther, Oklahoma and it's about to burn down a sub-division and the high school! They have a description of the vehicle and the OSBI and all LEO's are looking for that vehicle! Over thirty homes are gone. They are evacuating Thunderbird Casino on Highway 9. This fire is over 2 miles wide and has moved over 5 miles.

Just called his house and cell. Got the machine at the house. He's probably outside, keeping things wet. I'll try again in a bit.

Good gracious Bob I know exactly what your going through. We went through it here about 4 yrs ago. We had our grandkid here with us and decided it wasnt worth chancing the youngsters life so we grabbed our grandkid and what was important and bugged out. Most of our property is wooded and most everything around us is also. With a HUGE fire and 55 mph winds I figured our house would be gone (but our grandkid was safe so I was ok with that). When we got home to find what we had left our house was still standing (thanks to a VERY short cut lawn) We could see the firetrucks tracks all over the yard and only a small part of the fire got to our house with minimal damage. I did lose 2 pick-ups, a go-cart and one tree stand and doe decoy of course they were all near the woods or IN the woods. But everyone was ok and that was all that mattered. Hope it goes the same way for you. I just pray that well holds out. In this drought it is VERY susceptible to too being low. Will be praying and hoping for you and yours Bob.

Put the guns and yourselves in your storm bunker and leave a note saying you split.
Or get the vehicles full and be ready to go or whatever you think is best!

Stay safe and we will pray for all the people in that area. I hope to HELL No one get seriously hurt and they get the S.OB.'s starting the fires. We need to also pray for the fire fighters dealing with this especially in this HEAT.

Just talked to Brother Bob and Miss Wanda. She's heading out to pickup some family that will be staying with them due to being evacuated. Their ranch is safe for now as well. He'll be entertaining folks for awhile and most likely getting little sleep. Mrs is posting pictures.

Hope they stay safe. You can see the smoke column from both the Luther fire and the Slaughterville fire from Will Rogers Airport.

I came home from work to get my folks ready for possible evacuation. We're as ready as we can be if it should come our way. We're keeping a close watch on the situation. If anyone knows a site where I can get an interactive map of all the current fires, please let me know. And please, everyone on the forum who prays, pray for Oklahoma, it's people and it's firefighters. The report is that these fires were deliberately set. Someone was seen throwing burning trash out of a moving vehicle. Law Enforcement is looking into it.
