"I was watering my flowers, and heard a splash, I looked over at my bird bath and this stray dog was in my bird Bath. I gave him some food & water and a I watered him down real good, he loved it. Now he won't leave. I guess I have a friend for life."
Funny how animals know a good buddy when they find one. Humans should be so smart.
I agree. For a "dominant" species, too many of us have no respect or common courtesy for each other. Dogs don't tend to hold grudges, know their place, and need very little to be happy. Humans should take notes.
My wife did the same thing for a big yellow Chow that showed up in our yard years ago. Turned out to be the best dog we ever had. One hell of a watch dog.
Looks like an Aussie or Aussie Mix. They make excellent yard dogs. Pretty smart, but are prone to some genetic disorders. My sister had one that was deaf - he still loved to bark!!
LOL... we have three dogs... and two out of the three adopted us... the third was a "rescue dog"...
Our newest family member is "Bones"... named for both the TV dog "Wishbone" and what she looked like when we found her which was nothing but Skin and "Bones"..
Bones came to us one day when my wife was out running walking / running the dogs along the edge of a cotton field.. Truth be told we would have never found her had the wife not had to go pee and went to the edge of the woods. To make a long story short our other dog kept going in and out of the woods barking and there was Bones. Her chain was wrapped around a tree and she was starved and bad off to the point the wife wasn't sure she could even make it back to the house, but she did. So we nursed her a little bit and when it came time to either keep her or take her to the ASPCA I told the wife I thought we found her for a reason, and with that she became our newest family member. After the fact it looked like she wasn't being taken care of and got loose trailing a chain, then got caught around a tree in the woods. Her previous owners obviously didn't care none any as her collar was for an animal three times her size and the end of her chain had an old piece of electrical wire tied to it... guess she didn't even rate a proper chain... So anyway the pics are the as we found her and a few months later... although they don't do her justice.
I think when it's all said and done I'd rather live with the animals than live with people... at least their always honest.
