I thought all the hippies moved to Nederland, Colorado.(You gotta go there and take a good look around. Micro-mini busses, flower power, dreadlocks on children, no good hamburger to be found, free-range chicken eggs only, bell bottoms, etc)

OMG, fruits and nuts folks, fruits and nuts. But ya don't hear about these greenies squakin about the windmills that is defacing the land and doin NO good from my point of view. With all these windmills bein planted all over the country our electricity should be free.
Why don't they do a cause and effect study on birds and the guild wires for the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Oakland Bay Bridge. Oh, excuse me I forgot, those bridges generate money cause you have to pay to use them. But since the time that these bridges were built they should have been paid for by now.
I just read the headlines in the local paper here in Tennessee that the small city of Winchester is getting a 515 million dollar grant to buy or build an exit ramp for the local airport. Now what in the HELL does the city of Winchester TN need a special exit ramp to get to the airport for? There is one small jet that uses the airport and that jet is for the Nissan executives. The rest of the planes that are there are privately owned and small air craft. The airport is not even a controlled airport. No control tower.
And what is funny is, in last weeks paper (yes the paper comes out every Wednesday) they are raising the sewage bill. I guess the hike in the sewage bill is to pay for the 515 million dollar grant. Big money and stupid politics, and I bet Nissan had something to do with it. There is an exit ramp at the US-64 and US-41. It does not matter which direction you are traveling, either a right or left at the exit ramp, either cross the bridge or not there is the entrance to the airport. Not hard to miss at all.

No good hamburger? That's because their those **** fangled veggie burgers. They're aliens from outer space. Any real human needs meat LOL.
Where they are putting most of these wind turbines NOTHING else much lives there except some few animals. We are are the only ones worried about their lives. Not the animals. They are prob mostly fine with the turbines.
For a very long period in history every ship that came or left from San Francisco had sails. There is no evidence the ships either killed off or scared off the birds in and around San Francisco.
Birds may not have really large brains but they do seem intelligent enough to avoid death by sail. They appear able to avoid a sail.
I think the issue is the spinning props on the turbines are killing birds or the the fact the towers are there enmase in a certain large area are interfering with the wildlife. Something to that effect. Jets should be banned. Birds fly in their paths and die. *end scarcasim*
Beans, beans, good for the heart. The more you eat, the higher taxes you pay.
I have a couple of youtube videos that I'm not going to put in the political tread that has an acorn whistleblower. Ask me after watching why I feel they're tread related. Not hijacking the thread, but will only email the links and hope they get forwarded to all the friends of anyone willing to spend 20 minutes to see truth.

Well I haven't heard of an American Bald Eagle flying into a plane. It has been the Canadian Honker (that's a goose). Reports have shown that there are a lot of Bald Eagles are getting hit by the props. Besides there are enough scares on the land with out these turbines. In Palm Springs Calif when I was a kid it was nice desert. Now when you come out of the valley on I-10 heading east when you top the hill where White Water River is you start seein those turbines.
You go up over Calif Highway 58 out of Bakersfield and get into Tehachapi and as you drop down into the Mojave Desert there the turbines are. I have seen them in Oklahoma, Michigan, Minnesota, N. Dakota, S. Dakota. And the claim to fame is that they are creating electricity. If that's the case where is the savings on peoples electric bills. And no reason to be sarcastic.

We have a huge wind farm off of I-40, west of Oklahoma City. I saw it for the first time at the end of June. Each blade is over 40 foot long! It looked like something from a sci-fi movie!

Bro Bob those were the ones I was talkin about. Don't they make the land look wonderful? I have always questioned, if these things produce electricity where are the power lines? Every wind farm I have ever seen each windmill has a box sitting at the base. There is no power lines, no power plant for the electricity to travel to. So where is this big electric producing savings that we the people are suppose to be seeing. It seems every summer when I keep the doors shut and run the AC my electric bill just keeps goin up and up and up.

I think it's all buried until it gets to .......wherever it goes...... They're wonderful, but too costly for folks like us. They don't do well in lightning storms and constantly require maintenance. There's a guy that doesn't live too far from my brother-in-law who has one. It doesn't generate anymore. After the second lightning strike, the guy couldn't afford the labor to fix it again. Now it's nothing more than "yard art"........

Bro Bob, I was drivin truck when those were being built. And every time I went thru the area there would be more added. That is the point I am making. How far away is the (or a) power generating station from where those turbines are? I have never seen a power plant or generating station out in that area of Oklahoma. The only way I can see these turbines is that they are companies getting our tax dollars for this, and they ain't doin us any good. They are not saving me any money on my electric bill. But then look at the GM bail out. We the tax payers invested via the gooberment, are we gonna be gettin a new Chevy pick up? Don't hold your breath waitin for it.

GM actually mostely belongs to the commie chineese and union labor TNPIRATE .
The wind mills are a good thing in my mind . I am not so closed minded as to think we can continue to burn fossal fuels forever. We have to do something else I think this test could teach us things that may allow us to use solar winds and near space winds to our advantage . Open your mind and think about it. You have to invest money to learn anything of importance . Imagine a space ladder with wind turbines 15 and 20 miles off the earths surface . The technonerds have it figured out how to send electrical current without wires . IE : The Tesla coil . So don't be closed to advancement concentrate your energys on saving this country for now .

a lot to digest here. There is no need to have a "power plant or generating station" near the wind turbines. They generate electricity directly and feed the grid. I don't see any government involvement, these are utilities or privately owned for-profit deals. I remember in the 70s having someone come to my house looking for investments in wind farms. I was too poor then (and now for that matter, thank you very much Mr. Pres.) but it would have been a good investment.
As far as saving money, it's like pocketing those 'savings' you get when you buy something on special. It's an accounting thing, there is no cash put in our pockets to suddenly have to spend, nor pick-up truck in the driveway.
You bet electricity would cost more without the wind turbines, as it would without ANY power generating plant.
LOL. I just read the article. It's not about the City of San Francisco bag-o-mixed nuts just deciding to do this. It's the dang lawyers again, bottom feeding this time, forcing the expenditure. The gain to the city from America's Cup hosting will far out-weigh $150K.
Lawyers! Can't live with them,... er, that's all, can't live with them.

Do you really think that if it is cheeper for them to generate electricity they are going to lower your bill? I dont think so!! Most big businesses would rather just pocket the profit and not let you know that it is actually cheeper to generate electricity now.
I mean, do you REALLY expect any thing less from them?
