Boar Hunting

Hey Guys. is there some good wild boar hunting in certain areas of Tennesse. I thought this state was a prime spot for pig hunting in swampy areas. Would love to hunt there soon. Would appreciate any info.

I'm not really a good one to answer this but, several counties have hogs as well as several Wild Life Management Areas. There's not any hogs around where I live and hunt, or I would probably go crazy on'em. Try here:
www.state.tn.us/twra and you'll probably find something. Also Tn has changed hogs from a big game animal to a pest. It has got complicated to say the least. On private land, the land owner can shoot as many as he wants and he can have up to 10 hunters to help him out. Public land is different. You'll probably find something in the regs. There are several hunting preserves have hog hunting. You can pribably find some on the web. Good luck.

Thanks Roverboy. Will check out. Know you have some wild game farms. Have seen them advertised. From what I have understood places like Texas and tennessee have sh**loads of em or so I thought. Took one in Pa. but it was a boar farm. Expensive but what fun. Took a black russian. Was told they bring them up from Georgia and other southern states. Can't beat those tusks!!!

Boar

GOOD ONE Rambo. Reminds me a bit of the European variety they had at the Boar Farm. Had longer wiry looking hair than my black russian. I hit him with 130 grain Core-Lokt from Rem. model four autoloader. Flipped on side and hind legs flung leaves and dirt for a few seconds and that was it. Hind quarter tasted great but chops tough as hell. Take care for now and thanks for posting.
