Unhappy An effort by Billy Graham’s Christian organization

Just a little something to get Lenny2 wired up

An effort by Billy Graham’s Christian organization to collect Christmas goodies for children in war zones was described as racist and right wing by an English cleric, reports the Tameside Advertiser.

The Rev Vernon Marshall, a Unitarian minister in England, said the effort has a hidden agenda. He said “poisonous literature” is inserted into the shoeboxes.

“Leaflets are put in thrusting an intolerant and racist form of Christianity into the lives of poor Muslims who have been bombed out of their homes by the same people who then try to befriend them,” Marshall said.

Organizers of the drive said their Christian partners in some countries do offer a small booklet with each shoebox, but the youngsters are under no obligation to take it.

I think it's super. I support his son Franklin's Samaritan's Purse. First class organizations.

It's been my understanding that America was founded by folks who were Christians, for Christians. I know we are moveing toward a "State " religion but, right now, this is America, we are primarilly Christian. I'm sorry you find us so distasteful. Maybe you would like another part of the world to live in, you know, where others think like you and just want Christians for thier money and military support. I would be glad to help send you, and others like you, with my tax dollors, to this wonderful land. It's a crying shame that those who were around, when America was young, failed to listen to the founding Fathers. They were great men. God bless America!
