Was this in your backyard, Doglips?

Big un, isn't he. I wouldn't want to be in the water with him. I've had my run ins with 8 and 10 footers, but this one would scare me. I'd have the advantage though because I'd be running on dry land and he would be in 2 feet of crap.

On they way too/from work since I work at a remote launch pad...surrounded by swamp most of the way too and from you have to watch not only for deer, but alagators that lay on the road for the warmth.....looks like a big puddle of water at the edge of your headlights....will mess up a car bad

It also a wildlife refuge so some of them gators get 8 foot +......you know your in Florida when your beeping your horn for a gator to get out of the road

Gator crossing signs. We got a few of them in a lake a about 70 miles south of here. Every once in a while one finds its way into a ranchers stock tank.

Worse yet is when the cattle disappear. A rancher down there was missing a couple of calves and figured out it was a gator. Called game warden and a wildlife biologist out who figured it was an 8 footer and set up a 9 foot box trap. You can imagine their surprise when they came back the next day and there was 3 feet of tail sticking out. The warden told me that bad boy was 12 feet long! I asked if they shot it and he said no that they took it back to the lake and dumped it in the river. Great!

the one in that picture has to be at least 18 feet long..we have some gators in our lake two blocks away...whenever they get longer than 6 feet we have the fish and game people come out and get 'em

A good friend of mine is from the Beaumont Port Arthur area. They have a four acre pond behind their house, and whenever a gator reaches six feet, we be having alligator tail for dinner. Uhm, Uhm good! I love alligator.
