1. it will not let me open jpegs
2. i cant get to links from any post here or otherwise
3. i can open jpegs if im the poster but none other
4. it redirects mail to pple i didnt send to
5. i can open links but i have to copy and paste and back out of the room
6. ive reloaded the browser and xp to no avail
7.it will not communicate with my printer, that just started
8 ive run mcaffee so thier are no viruses and i keep it up to date
what do you think maybe a hard ware problem? its infuriating

I would delete history...delete temp internet files....clear cache....defrag........restart.

On another note...what is about you Viet Nam grunts? Man, Dad "Viet Slapped" me this way and that way tonight. Had a big *** problem with me putting my multi-displaced daughter into counseling. Said I was screwing myself out of money. Said shrinks are a scam. Somehow turned it into a viet Nam speach. Asked me what I thought about that.......

Told him I'd have to ask the shrink...

Follow 1* lead. Iv'e had problems with mine. Iv'e actually narrowed it down to the Net. Possibly the dial up. I get off line, PC runs like a raped ape. On line I get wierd things especially on this forum. (go figure, the only one I use)

I had McAffee, to each his own. I'm sure it's great for some folks. But, I installed Symantec Corporate Version, soon as I did, viruses were detected and have been weeded out since the last couple of weeks. I never got a virus alert with McAffee. Makes me wonder.???

Iv'e had to go back and remove some of the stuff that has been loaded as automatic upgrades to XP. Most has been bells and whistles crap I did not want. Re configured to let ME decide if the upgrade gets loaded.

I bought XP PRO. They are sopposed to be more pro active on issues as businesses use it. I'm told XP Home problems don't get much attention. I haven't asked for help yet mostly due to not being able to explain the problem in great detail. Same with asking the palce I got it from. Thing works great when I'm not on the net. Even then, after I re dial in a few times, it eventually starts working OK.

A decent computer store should be able to straighten it out for about $50.00 I know it sux spending the money on the stupid thing, but sometimes that's the end of the road.

1* If I may give a bit of my opinion on your question. My dad and step dad are both viet nam vets & I know plenty more. I'm not qualified to make official assesments that would hold up in the proffesional community. However, from my own observations (and everyone is different) The typical man who went to south east asia was the son of a WWll era father. hands down, our greatest generation. Most men sent to the country did not mind. the typical guy was patriotic, loved his country and wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps. time were a changi'n dramatically from '65~'75 IMOHO, I think this was about the beginning of the loss of values this country was founded on. Take a guy who loves his country and give him the impression his country dosen't love him back coupled with the downslide of a society, and it tends to leave some a little bitter. Most guys just wanted to be like dad.

1* your dad is like alot of vets, you know we fought like hell but lost the war because of lyndon johnson, and macnamarra who should have been strung by his balls, I think your pop is is tring to do the right thing as he sees fit in his own eyes, we are a tough breed of people, and tend to see things the same way, be very careful about it, if you want your daughter in counsling then do it, your pop is one tough guy and he sees things in a different light, dont pass judgement, do what you think needs to be done, he will understand, at some point, thats all

joe says i talk to myself and i geuss thats true, i had a really big problem with my daughter in the mid 80,s, she went for a sleep over at a friends and stole her mothers car in the middle of the night, they both drove to sante fe and hit a gas pump at a gas station, i left her in juvie as long as possible, she a good kid now,they will turn out allright, 1 week later from this episode a lowrider turned up at my house with sleazy mexicans looking for my daughter, i met them at the door with a 12 gauge pointed right at thier faces, and told em id shoot you sobs if you ever come here again, you know me i mean it no bul-sh-it, I also told my daughter I brought you in this world and ill take you out, not politicaly correct, but effective, she was ok after that especialy when she met the judge, just me
