FRIENDS OF ANIMALS? HOW ABOUT...ENEMIES OF ALASKANS..

For the past several years, Moose populations in certain remote areas of Alaska have been precipitously dropping. This causes a severe hardship to our fellow Alaskans living in these areas, since they, unlike wealthy so called animal rights activists, just can't jump into an SUV and head over to a gourmet food shop and buy some pate.....

Nope, when the moose are gone, our fellow Alaskans, who rely on game to feed themselves and their families, go hungry.

The Department of Fish and Game, considering all the facts and circumstances involved in this decrease in moose population, have carefully crafted a wolf management program that entails the killing of about 30, yes a mere 30 wolves. This is out of a healthy and vigorous population of several thousand wolves roaming our state.

Of course, now that Alaskans have decided what's best for OUR game population, for OUR wolves, and for OUR citizens, a radical so called animal rights organization, the self styled "Friends of Animals" have seized on OUR reasoned decision to engage in limited predator control for the purpose of advancing their radical agenda, and of course, to raise money...lots of it. After all, what's the lives of a few Alaskans measured against the immense fund raising opportunity they can create by falsely claiming that wolves are being eradicated.

They tried in Court....they lost. Now, in order to get publicity, raise funds, and hold a gun to our heads, they have decided to try a "tourism boycott". They hope that they will send enough cards and letters via their silly "howl ins" in various liberal cities to make our State Government back off and save "their" wolves.

Our courageous Governor, Hon Frank Murkowski, has indicated that he is not going to cave into outside pressure. We appreciate his stance. However, we need to show him that the threats of radicals are not going to affect Alaskans. We are asking for your support in fighting this so called boycott.

You can click below to E-mail our Governor, with copies to the Anchorage Daily News. Please thank the Governor for his courage in facing down the radicals. Please tell him that you support the right of Alaskans to manage our own game populations as we see fit. And most importantly, let him know that if the opportunity arises, you intend to visit our beautiful state no matter what any radical organization says.

Thanks for your help.

I wouldn't mind hunting wolf. Are they a notable danger to humans up there, like grizzlies?

Gotta have reason to invent those heavy caliber semi-autos...
